Neutrality

edit

Suggesting that McCombs ran the Vikings "into the ground" does not conform to Wikipedia's viewpoint neutrality policy. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.145.144.254 (talkcontribs) .

Facts are always neutral. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.49.44.154 (talk) 03:44, 9 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

After adjusting the content and have therefore removed the {{POV check}} tag. jareha (comments) 00:19, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article's POV seems to have become a problem again. The article includes many subjective phrases like "a very successful operation," "an astute and successful investor," and "generous concern for others." The entire article reads more like a toast to Red McCombs than a neutral encyclopedia article. I'm bringing back the POV check tag. -Mabeenot (talk) 04:10, 12 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've reverted Special:Contributions/Profcopywriter's edits on the basis that they're just excessive astroturfing. In addition to the edits 174.46.28.58 reverted, there's stuff like "McCombs is recognized as one of the leading automobile dealers in the United States", "McCombs pioneered the used car business model employed by most retail auto dealers in the United States", "McCombs is an astute and successful investor", and then this:

Sure, some of the dates are, I suppose, interesting, but they're uncited. And I find it curious how the Biography section was pretty much just a copy / past of the lead paragraph. All in all, the whole thing wreaks of a bad copy paste job. I mean, look at the edit times. Within five minutes, Profcopywriter wrote all that? Sorry, but that just seems unlikely. What seems more likely, in fact, is that it's plagiarism, although I can find no other site using these exact sentences via Google. TerraFrost (talk) 05:58, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Some of the latest additions to this article appear to have been lifted straight from this:

http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/news/mccombs/about/bio.asp

In particular, all paragraphs, save for the first, second, and the last.

The second paragraph appears to be lifted from this:

http://66.162.83.197/bio.html

I'll probably revert these additions within the next few days unless anyone can think of any reason I ought not to... TerraFrost 21:02, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

No need to wait - those are straight cut and pastes. Thanks for spotting it. Kuru talk 21:50, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Career

edit

The Biography section devotes one sentence to this billionaire’s career. It says nothing about how big his automobile dealership became, or how he became involved in Clear Channel, what his role there was, and how much of his fortune is accounted for. Sajita (talk) 02:24, 15 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
