Gay Icon Project
editIn my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 21:37, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Lake is of Jewish Heritage?
editIs she of Jewish Hertiage? Anyone knows? Seriously. 71.247.239.64 18:37, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
-She was on the Howard Stern show today (06 December 2007) and said she was Jewish
Please Guys, don't turn the question of Riki's religion into another 'Neve Campbell' Wiki Page. (Check the 'Jewish' section there). Whether Riki is Jewish. Believes in Men from Mars, or Worships the Moon from Brooklyn Bridge means nothing either way. She is a fine human being.Johnwrd (talk) 03:56, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Popularity amongst African-Americans
editIs the article suggesting that Ricki Lake herself is racist because the thought of her popularity amongst the African-American community made her physically sick? Can anyone answer this?
Complaint
editThe Wikimedia Foundation has received complaints (on m:OTRS) about untrue statements (without source) that claim that Ms Lake would host such or such TV show. We wish to remind all contributors that under WP:BLP rules, they should not report unsourced biographical claims. Instead of flagging dubious claims as "citation needed", feel free to remove them. Funniest Videos - Unsourced
editThe claim that Ms. Lake will be hosting America's Funniest Home Videos has been added to that article as well, but neither it nor the additions here have sources. I've searched Google News in vain for verification, does anyone here have a link showing this? If not, it might be worth removing until validation can be found. - CHAIRBOY (☎) 03:26, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- An IP editor tried to re-add the claim here and at the AFHV article again. I've rolled it back as vandalism as it appears to be a concerted attempt to inject false information into the project. - CHAIRBOY (☎) 00:49, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Sexual Abuse Survivor
editSaw on television this evening that Ricki Lake was the victim of sexual abuse beginning at the age of 6, but no info in this article. Is this news new? 216.15.49.125 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 01:45, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Arrest
editWasn't Ricki arrested some years back with PETA for vandalizing an office? I thought she was... If I can find good sourced information, should that be inculded? SirChuckB (talk) 05:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes she was. http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1241&dat=19941116&id=A2pTAAAAIBAJ&sjid=JYYDAAAAIBAJ&pg=5648,4429577
She also appeared days later on the David Letterman show, wearing leather pants. I believe that when Dave pointed out the hypocrisy, Lake stormed off the set. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.246.173.242 (talk) 04:51, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
Hole In The Head
editIs it worth including in this article that Ricki is briefly mentioned in the Sugababes' song Hole In The Head?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.31.224.78 (talk) 01:23, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
