Russ Peterson (American football player) → Russ Peterson (offensive lineman) – WP:NCSP Joeykai (talk) 02:23, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
- Question - is there another American football player? If not then oppose, and if WP:NCSP really supports this move then sounds like an example of WP:LOCALCONSENSUS among American football fans and should be challenged or submitted to RFC. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:02, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose: Peterson was not an offensive lineman. He played in the era of one-platoon football where players played both offense and defense. There seems to be some discrepancy about which position(s) he played. Pro-Football-Reference listed him as a tailback, while Databasefootball.com listed him as a tackle. Some more research should be done on this subject before an article move, if such a move is needed. Jweiss11 (talk) 01:54, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. There is no other article on an American football player called Russ Peterson. The proposal seems to rely on a misreading of WP:NCSP. I note however that this naming convention is listed at Template:Naming conventions, so it doesn't appear to be an example of local consensus (or if it is it shouldn't be so listed).
