Sattriya dance → Sattriya — Common name: no-need to suffix "dance". "Sattriya" already redirects here. Other Indian classical dances do not have dance "suffixed" with their name. Arjuncodename024 19:57, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Lists
editThis article is on the dance form, hence moving the lists of exponents/awardees here - probably best to move them to a dedicated new list article. Around The Globeसत्यमेव जयते 09:51, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Self promotion
editThe activities of the IP address 103.199.202.202 is maliciously promotional as all images are updates to krishnakshi kashyap’s. Nemeton1 (talk) 03:32, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
The activities of Nemeton1 is highly self promotional as it updates all photos and information belonging to same person and family. There were even efforts to remove important information updated by other users.

- @331dot: I suggest we do not use these images at all. There seems to be some professional rivalry and self-promotion going on here. Chaipau (talk) 00:59, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- I would tend to agree, but let's see if they are interested in weighing in first. I'm very curious as both of them claim the images as their own work. 331dot (talk) 07:59, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

There is no self promotion going on here. The first image depicts the basic most important step of Sattriya dance called Ora of Mati akhara used in every dance piece of Sattriya. If it was promotional names would have been added of the dancer in the captions. Trying to change some images which have been there since many years as some updates needs to be added every once in a while. Thank you for understanding. Nemeton1 (talk) 14:41, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Nemeton1 You have claimed some of the images as your own work, this would mean that you personally took them with your own camera. They look professionally photographed; please clarify. 331dot (talk) 16:22, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
The photographs are property licensed and they are my own work. Please try to understand and stop vandalising the page. All the photos of the page have been removed which is not advisable. Please refrain from it and let the page be. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nemeton1 (talk • contribs) 03:32, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- So you are saying that you personally took the images with your own camera? 331dot (talk) 08:36, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
Infobox image
editSattriyacritic I am curious why you deem the image to be inappropriate. It was added by a seemingly neutral editor to illustrate this dance form. Surely you are not saying it is impossible to have an image of someone performing this dance form in this article?
There has certainly been efforts to promote dancers with images here, but what makes you think this is happening here now? 331dot (talk) 16:51, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- There are many award winning notable artist of sattriya dance whose pictures can be put up here but not just anyone for their self promotion. Please check other classical dance wiki pages with famous notable dancers. It has been asked by a party to upload it through a neutral editor as they have been blocked from editing. Sattriyacritic (talk) 08:41, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Blocked editors may not ask others to edit for them, that is called meat puppetry and not permitted. I have no particular interest in which images are displayed here, but you are being disruptive by just removing them without discussion. You need to discuss here. 331dot (talk) 09:47, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
