Wrong Linux information

edit

The main info-box says "Linux: 8.33.0.50 / 27 October 2018; 10 days ago" (according to reference #1 of the article[1] ), the date is correct, but according to the same reference[2] (Reference #1 of the Skype Wikipedia article), the last Linux version is "8.33.0.41".

Please add the following text (including links) to the end of the Skype#Windows client subsection as a new paragraph: The Skype aplication for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S was discontinued in June 2023. However, users on those platforms are still able to use the Web version of Skype via Microsoft Edge.

Additionally, please add the following two external links as reference links, optionally using the "Cite Web" template:

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 01:30, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see that you have opted not to add my proposed edits, stating that I needed to add reliable sources. Could you please clarify which part of my two sources (particularly the first one, which is a support article from Microsoft themselves) does not meet reliability criteria? If the date stated is the issue, please simply leave that part out and add the rest, as I cannot locate any non-forum indication that June 2023 was the date the Skype application was discontinued on Xbox, as it was done very quietly and without any announcements. 58.107.85.151 (talk) 08:54, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see that my edit request was again closed, with the edit summary asking for better sources. I have managed to find another source from Windows Central (see here) which does mention that the dedicated Skype application for Xbox was discontinued (in the third paragraph under the subheading "Where are the apps?"). I am hoping that this will finally be a reliable enough source to have my requested edit added. 58.107.85.151 (talk) 17:44, 8 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've closed this request again as a procedural action since it has been contested, and so it should not be in the queue, which is reserved for requests which are immediately actionable and do not possess contention. Pinging Imconfused3456 to see what he has to say regarding your new source. Please do not change answered=yes until there is a consensus for an edit to be implemented, or all editors that have taken issue withdraw. —Sirdog (talk) 23:31, 8 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Use only the first source and information it supports - The first source is reliable/useable because it meets WP:SELFSOURCE criteria. I would not use the second or third sources or information from them because I don't think they're reliable.
