The Smallville Scarecrow S
editI'm fairly certain that the S painted on Clark's chest in the Smallville pilot episode (when he is tied to the cross in the field) is meant to stand for "scarecrow", not "Smallville".
On a slightly related note, it is worth mentioning that the Smallville Clark wears a black / grey variant of the S shield on his chest during acts of heroism (as "The Blur") around Metropolis now. --Codemonkey85, 14:34, 30 September 2009 (EST) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.218.118.135 (talk)

editShouldn't someone atleast upload an image of the S shield to show the reader what the article talks about looks like? Nadirali 07:35, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Reign of Supermen Variants
editI'd recommend somne discussion of the Reign of the Supermen variant shields (the half-normal, half-metallic Cyborg Superman logo, the Steel logo, and the "stitched-on" Superboy logo). Also, I have heard that the reason DC stopped using the original Steel logo was because it turned out they didn't actually have the rights to that specific variant. Can anyone find a cite for this? 207.31.229.4 13:11, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Evosuperman.jpg
editImage:Evosuperman.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:39, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

"nothing more than an inverted triangle"
editWhat characterizes a triangle as being "inverted"? This pre-supposes that there is a "correct" orientation for a triangle, but I'd maintain that it is simply a class of geometric figures based on the number of sides and vertices, and that there isn't a "right" way up which can be inverted. Just thought I'd mention it; it may seem perfectly fine to others... Jock123 (talk) 16:55, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Movie cape shield outlined in red thread?
editI'm not sure where this information comes from - it certainly always appears to be black to me, and between the definitive DVD edition information (both of the on-screen uses and as seen in the behind the scenes footage), as well as this comprehensive on-line examination of screen used costumes: http://www.capedwonder.com/newwebsite/pages/superman-costumes.html there is no mention of the sections of the cape shield being outlined in red.
It therefore isn't a variant, but an accurate reproduction of the shield as shown in the comics of the time. Jock123 (talk) 17:21, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
