editI see that there is a bit of edit-warring on this article, but there is no corresponding discussion at the talkpage... Please remember to discuss controversial issues at talk, thanks. --Elonka 02:00, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Rashid Khalidi himself denies to ever work for Wafa, see discussion at Talk:Rashid Khalidi. The information is removed from his article per BLP concerns. I think it is inappropriate to inser this info to Wafa or any other article untill some consensus is formed on Rashid Khalidi Alex Bakharev (talk) 02:05, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
is WAFA more controlled by the West Bank de facto government or the Gaza Strip de facto government?
editA rather relevant fact in the present context would be whether Wafa is presently "controlled" (in the sense that the BBC is controlled by the British government, etc.) by the PNA or rather by the de facto Gaza Strip government. Or is it independent enough that it's something of a mix with governmental control only happening by the choice of various senior leaders, etc. ? Any reliable sources on this? Official new agency
edit- RS news sources overwhelming describe WAFA as the "official Palestinian news agency" Reuters, Al Jazeera, ABC News, New York Times, PBS, and of course, WAFA itself
- Academic sources refer to WAFA as the Palestinian state news agency as well: [1] [2] [3]
State media or public broadcaster?
editI'd be hesitant to call something state media if it is financed by the government. Does it allow government criticism? If it does, we should link to the public broadcasting article and not state media. PhotographyEdits (talk) 11:21, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
