The article has been written in good faith, but has been tagged for several issues. This is in no way intended as a criticism, and should be regarded as flagging of areas that need attention. Unsourced items may be deleted as they could appear to be made up by the contributors; please help by adding sources if you can.--Kudpung (talk) 20:00, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

It would be helpful if you could add cite tags to specific items that are considered to need sources, or which lack neutrality, so that these concerns can be addressed. Mhockey (talk) 13:04, 27 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nicholas van Hoogstraten

edit

In the article is a reference to Nicholas van Hoogstraten regarding conflicts between walkers and landowners, but there is nothing fitting on that page. It would be good to include the referred event there. -- Tomdo08 (talk) 17:35, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm slightly troubled by this assertion. I have always understood angling to be the most popular? The link used for a citation did not work for me today. Since I'm a walker and not an angler, I'm making no changes. 92.23.145.26 (talk) 11:35, 16 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hiking, etc. Merge?

edit

An article also exists for hiking. Is there a need for this division on national lines? Recently a section on the history of walking in Britain was added to the hiking page. A further separate article exists for hill walking. Is there a case for for merging here? -- and there are different possibilities. There is in addition an article on walking tours which might be merged with hiking.Rwood128 (talk) 13:03, 17 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Scrambling

edit

This section is surely too long, especially as a separate article on scrambling exists? Furthermore it offers advice and route description, which isn't appropriate for an encyclopaedia. I propose that it should be pruned and incorporated into the main Hillwalking section. Any objections? Rwood128 (talk) 15:54, 29 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Usual Anglocentric trash

edit

Why is it whenever Scottish and Welsh content is merged into a UK article it goes walking? Not good enough. Either split the articles or get rid of the Anglocentric bias. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:4C8:141C:D846:1:1:78EE:DB1B (talk) 20:23, 27 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
