Date of construction
editIn attempting to rewrite a little of this article after removing the copyvio I found conflicting information about the date of construction of the mosque. I have simply added both versions to the article for now, with relevant sources. I hope that someone with a better knowledge of the history and monuments of Damascus than mine (not difficult!) may be able to resolve this apparent discrepancy.
