Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya, established in 1948,[1] is one of the oldest colleges in Purba Medinipur district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce and sciences. It is affiliated to Vidyasagar University.[2]

History
editWhen the college opened in 1948, it was affiliated under the University of Calcutta.[citation needed] Later, the affiliation was shifted under Vidyasagar University.

editThe college is located in the heart of Tamluk in the Purba Medinipur district. Tamluk Central Bus Stand is 1 km from the college.
Departments and courses
editThe college offers different undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the science, arts, and commerce branch. This college aims at imparting education to the undergraduates of lower- and middle-class people of Tamluk and its adjoining areas.
