edit- ... that Jeff Banister (pictured) overcame bone cancer in high school and paralysis in college to play in Major League Baseball?

IOUTemplate:Did you know nominations/Cengiz Aktar - Comment: This is the pre-expansion version, at 2057 bytes of prose. That would mean 10,285 is a full 5x expansion. At the moment, it's at 9,927 characters. I'll try to get those last 300+ characters, but I think this expansion should suffice in case I can't. I just need to stop working on this right now so I can get back to my actual job. The image could work if it's cropped, possibly.

- I can confirm the article was at 2057 bytes and that the expansion started on October 16. The article is at 10,092 bytes now, still a bit short of 10,285, but I'd support promoting it regardless. So: inline citations are used throughout. I could not detect any bias or WP:BLP problems. The sources look fine. Did a couple of spotchecks for close paraphrasing - no problems found. The article seems to be developed to a high quality otherwise (looks like a GA to me).
- The hook is properly formed, interesting, appears in the text, and is backed by inline refs.
- The image is properly licensed. It kinda works, a crop could work too - not sure about that, so I'd welcome a second opinion.
- So, while I'm on the fence regarding the image, the only thing that's missing is the QPQ review. GregorB (talk) 22:23, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
