This template should have a comma separating the fields when the lead=yes parameter is enabled, like so:
Current: Japanese: デッドマンズQ Hepburn: Deddomanzu Kuesuchonzu
Proposed: Japanese: デッドマンズQ, Hepburn: Deddomanzu Kuesuchonzu
This would put it in line with the display of the parent template, Template:Nihongo. — Goszei (talk) 06:01, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

UPDATE: This proposed change should also extend to the default display (i.e. without lead=yes):

UPDATE: I believe this change is supported by MOS:ALTNAME: Relevant foreign-language names, such as in an article on a person who does not themselves write their name in English, are encouraged. Nah, leave the discussion here. Module talk:Lang/utilities is a redirect to Template talk:lang. If ever this discussion and the Template talk:Nihongo § Revising my "Hepburn" display proposal discussion conclude with some sort of decision that requires action, I've been considering splitting out the nihongo support from Module:Lang/utilities into Module:Nihongo.

I guess that I disagree. Unlike your first example where the t and the adjacent [ touched, the s character in your second example does not touch the adjacent [ character.

Taking another look, this appears to be a Monobook thing. It's certainly not as bad on either of the Vectors and nonexistant on Minerva. I'll let someone else decide whether this is enough of a priority to leave the request open; I'm neutral on it. Thanks for your help! —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 00:57, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
