John Duncanson Bell (11 October 1828 - 14 January 1908) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
editHis father was Andrew Bell (27 November 1796 - 13 July 1849), a shoemaker from Redgorton in Perthshire.
His mother was Christian Rolland Duncanson (30 January 1803 - 18 January 1834) from Dollar. Andrew and Christian married on 15 June 1823 in Dollar.
John Duncanson Bell was born on 11 October 1828 in Dollar.
He married Jane Fraser Hogg (29 September 1893 - 1 March 1896) from Edinburgh. John and Jane married on 13 June 1856 in Edinburgh.
They had three children; but one Rolland Graham Bell (4 February 1858 - 1864) did not survive childhood.
His surviving sons were the artists Harold Fraser Bell (28 April 1861 - 14 February 1902) and John Munro Bell (30 November 1862 - 4 November 1918).

editHe died in Edinburgh on 14 January 1908. He was buried in Warriston Cemetery, Edinburgh on 17 January 1908.
