Malcolm Maclachlan Harper (1839 - 4 November 1914) was a Scottish painter and author.[1][2]
Life
editHis father was John Harper (c. 1806 - 12 July 1857), a grocer from Kelton, Castle Douglas.
His mother was Catherine Maclachlan.
Malcom Maclachlan Harper was born in Kelton, Castle Douglas.
He worked as a clerk in the British Linen Bank.
Art
editLiterature
editHe wrote Rambles round Galloway, published in 1876; and also jointly edited the book The Bards of Galloway and the book Maggie O' the Moss.
Death
editHe died on 4 November 1914 at Castle Douglas.
