George Andrew Nasmyth Langlands (c.1862 - 17 August 1939) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
editAs noted on his death certificate, his father was David Nasymth, a Lieutantent Colonel in the Indian Army.
His mother was Agnes Aitchison (13 May 1841 - 4 April 1904) from Edinburgh.
As noted on census, George Andrew Nasmyth was born c. 1862 in Edinburgh.
His stepfather was David Milne Langlands (31 August 1834 - 28 October 1929), a landscape gardener and surveyor from Rescobie in Forfarshire. David Milne Langlands and Agnes married on 24 August 1863 in Melrose.
George Andrew Nasymth used Langlands as his surname.

editHe died on 17 August 1939 at 7am at Moray Lodge, Granton Road, Leith, Edinburgh. His usual address was 192 Ferry Road in Leith.[3] He died of myocarditis.
