Wikipedia, the encyclopedia that anyone can edit—except me, apparently. 🤷♂️ Thanks for letting this retired editor keep his brain active a while longer. Goodbye. – ~~~~

Note to all (20nov20):
I love WP's Visual Editor—but have just realized, to my horror, that it's capable of creating typos that aren't apparent in visual previews (particularly when inserting and removing linebreaks, for some reason). If my edits have contained such typos, I apologize, and assure my fellow Wikipedians it wasn't intentional. I'll do my best to double-check everything. – AndyFielding (talk) 02:28, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

Greetings, fellow obsessives,
I'm a retired technical writer, editor and GUI consultant. I enjoy contributing to WP because:
- It's fun.
- Helping the world understand stuff is a Noble Cause.
- It helps my aging brain stay sharp, except for the marmalade.
- It's an excuse to make lists.
- It makes my wife think I'm usefully occupied.
- It's something Bill and Melinda might do if they weren't eradicating diseases, aiding the underprivileged and so on. (Well, maybe not, but still.)
- As my mom would've said, it's "better than stealing hubcaps".
I edit only when I feel I can make articles easier to read (more concise, usually) more accurate, or more complete.
I'm afraid I don't have time to engage in debates about my changes. If you disagree with some, undo them if you must—but first, please consider that as long as the meaning is clear, "less is more". Cheers – AndyFielding (talk) 08:32, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
