PLEASE NOTE: I am a single-issue Wikipedian on the whole, unless I find some glaring problems on other articles that I believe need to be rectified on my travels. But in the main, I will mostly be charting the history of various steam locomotive classes, especially those of the Southern Railway.

Greetings! Welcome to my talk pages on Wikipedia! Before I get down to business, I wish to explain that the rather garish colour scheme is meant to replicate the Malachite green used on the Bulleid Pacific steam locomotives just after the Second World War. As you can probably tell, I'm from Wales (Oliver Bulleid's mother was Welsh...), but I'm proud to be a keen supporter of all things British. Steam has been a passion of mine for twenty years, and I delight in sharing my knowledge with my fellow man, and Wikipedia provides a platform for me to do this. I am currently working on improving British Southern Railway articles, as most of them are in desperate need of both expansion and improvement. Please feel free to look around my projects...
My interests are fairly diverse, and include military vehicles, hill-walking, model-making, and of course, railways.
I have also attained a BA (Hons) in History at Swansea University, and I wish to apply the approach of the historian to Wikipedia. I am currently undertaking an MA in Modern History.
Finally, I am an active participant on the National Preservation railway forum, and enjoy visiting the standard gauge Heritage Railways of Britain, and am an enthusiast of the Southern Railway due to the sheer variety of locomotive classes operated in a relatively small area.

Current projects

edit
  • Improving the Maunsell 'mogul' articles: SECR N1 class, SR U class and SR U1 class. As it incorporated many similar parts, I am also working on the SR W class, although I feel an image is required to illustrate this locomotive. I feel that the main four articles are sound, but require fleshing out and a through review by third parties. Phew!
  • Southern Railway (Great Britain). This is the big one at the moment, and It'll probably take a couple of years before its finished. Incidentally, any help that other keen editors can give will be greatly appreciated!
  • Improving BR Standard Class 9F article to GA, although this one has taken a bit of a back-burner for the time being whilst I grapple with Southern Railway articles. See Sandbox Projects.
  • Continually revising FAs as new data comes into my possession.

Thanks

edit
  • For steadfastly helping to bring several Southern Railway locomotive articles up to FA standard, I wish to thank EdJogg.
  • I also wish to thank John of Paris for helping with the engineering side of things, and for finding a photograph of the SR Z Class in its home territory, as well as having some input.
  • User:Slambo for encouragement.
  • And anyone else who has helped along the way, no matter how big/small; you know who you are...

Sandbox projects

edit

User:Bulleid Pacific/Sandbox: Working on the ever-popular BR Standard Class 9F, but refs need to be added soon.

User:Bulleid Pacific/Sandbox 1: As part of an ongoing process of revision of FAs that I have been involved with, I have recently expanded the LSWR N15 class article in anticipation of a thorough copyedit and prose check. Once these have been done, this sandbox version will be pasted onto the actual article.
