Gardsmyg (born June 8 1987) is an American born Wikipedian of the female persuasion. She is commonly mistaken for a specific type of bird, but this she does not mind. You might almost say she encourages it.

A life-long member of the intelligentsia, she has spent time as a poet, a playwright, and a bookbinder. She's also spent less glamorous time in the box factory, and a re-education facility. She's presently working on a dual degree in dramatic writing and anthropology.

She's a clever girl, but sometimes she is too clever.

About me

edit

Okay, all seriousness asside. My name is Wren. What else do you care to know?

I'm a life-long student, even though I still actually am a student. I have an unhealthy obsession with knowledge and learning new things. I've become a repository of random facts and other trivia. Well, they're not all that that random.

I'm an avid reader. You can check out my bookshelf if you so like. It's an incomplete list, but I'm working on it. Every time I move, I cry over how many books have to be left behind. I do have a wonderful collection of signed first edition contemporary poetry.

I believe strongly in volunteering. I have, for some ungodly reason, decided to apply simultaneously to the Peace Corps, Teach for America, and the New York City Teaching Fellows. Volunteering isn't just a commitment for me, it's a lifestyle.

As a Wikipedian

edit

As you can see, I'm pretty new in these parts. I may be a young Wikipedian, but I'm already diving in headfirst with the help of my adoptor, Gimme danger. So far I've managed to stay out of trouble, but I'm sure I'll find some eventually...

For the most part, I'm a WikiGnome. However, I also am capable of acting as a WikiFairy, and, to a lesser degree, a WikiDragon. I'm a bit of a shapeshifter, or perhaps a changeling. Now doesn't that sound a little more...sinister? Hmm...

I just do what is needed when I see the need. I like tidying things up, and making them look right in addition to being right. I'm slightly OCD over this, but not to the point of it being overboard. Just enough to get the job done.

Most importantly, though, is that I would be more than happy to help you with something. I'm still learning the ropes, but what better way to do so than by doing? So if you've got some random tasks you'd like to give me, I'd be more than happy to do them. Just drop me a line!

Projects

edit

I don't have very many projects going on right now. Hopefully I'll have more soon!
