Hello, my name is André and I'm 35 years old and this page is a little outdated. I come from Leipzig where I studied Linguistics and Sinology at the local university. I'm doing my PhD at the University of Zurich about the languages of Burma. My main interests in linguistics include phonetics, phonology and typology, as well as historical linguistics, writing systems, constructed languages (esp. Esperanto and Klingon) and lexicography. I also like movies, science (especially astronomy) and to an extent geography. I collect dictionaries — they sum up to over 700 books in way over 250 different languages. See a map of my dictionary collection here!

For more information about my life, you can read my blog here: http://n-true.livejournal.com/ (but this is now discontinued)

P.S.: I collect the word for the number 47 ("forty-seven") in as many languages as possible. You can see my collection (612 languages so far) here. I do the same with the word for water, for which I have 2,425 languages now (the list is not online, though). In case you know any further translation or if you can correct anything, please leave me a message on my talk page here or as a comment in my LiveJournal. Thank you!
