Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to List of Canadian flags, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and/or verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Slykos (talkcontribsrights) 18:32, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Coach Canada has been reverted.
Your edit here to Coach Canada was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (http://www.angelfire.com/ca/TORONTO/trentwaywagar.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Merging of articles in Whitemouth RM

edit

Hello,

I am just following up on the merging of articles into the Rural Municipality of Whitemouth. Generally when dealing with RM articles, the format is to provide a short list of communities in the RM and any specific RM history to that page. Large and specific history sections of each community, such as the Elma article, should generally remain on the specific community's page. It appears that this RM page is out of format.   Hello. In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Caius G. (talk) 20:46, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Caddie is used in both British and American English, with Caddy being an alternate, somewhat archaic spelling. Note the caddie spelling at PGAtour.com and TheOpen.com. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 21:03, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi, youre right - it doesn't seem to be a regional thing. Nonetheless, both spellings work for Wikipedia, so whether or not you want to spend your time on a relatively trivial (granted, I'm not an avid golfer) matter is down to you. Happy gnoming! Best, Caius G. (talk) 21:15, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. jp×g 04:17, 20 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Following up on El Dorado Rum

edit

Hi, I'm not sure if pings work on IPs so I'm hoping this message works. I've added a few citations to the article El Dorado Rum, and I was wondering if you had any feedback. I'm ambivalent with regards to deletion, but my gut tells me it will result in a keep + a lot of AfD drama. Maybe you have some good ideas for culling/cleaning up the article? Cheers, Estheim (talk) 14:36, 20 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for that! I often forget to check what-links-here. I added 2, but in context of the company, which sort of reinforces the name change I proposed. I think major rum manufacturers are relevant to the sugar industry section of Agriculture in Guyana and Guyana Sugar Corporation, but both articles are in shoddy state. Fixing the sugar industry section had been on my to-do list for some time already, ay yai yai. Anyway, good tip! Cheers, Estheim (talk) 21:58, 20 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required.Diannaa (talk) 12:22, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! Noah 💬 21:16, 13 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Capital Scotland does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks!   Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. Cupcake547Let's chat! 16:11, 14 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your image was inserted successfully on the page Crestwood, Edmonton, but because it appeared to be irrelevant to the article or violated the image use policy, it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. The image file "Lighted Lollipops (6614701799).jpg" which you added is not from that location. If you check the image's geographic coordinates, you will see that it was taken in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I have removed it from the Crestwood article accordingly.
