Hi AB-me, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.

Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.

Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) 15:17, Jun 13, 2005 (UTC)

Hi AB-me

I would love to enjoy your Viasat Sport Divisionen-projekt. I have also made a lot of wiki-pages about Danish football. Kalaha 19:26, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Go on then, enjoy :) If you have any insider-information about any of the teams, feel free to add it to the articles :) /AB-me (chit-chat) 22:19, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Would you help me?

edit

Hi AB-me.

I am making a national handball project, but with my first site User:Kalaha/Denmark women's national handball team will it not be this template but this one. Do you know why? Kalaha 15:14, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Answered. /AB-me (chit-chat) 13:49, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Hej.
Undskyld ulejligheden. Kalaha 14:08, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Viasat Sport Divisionen-project

edit

Hi AB-me,

Just happened to come across your userpage and saw the great work that you're doing on the club articles. Now, I will not claim to know too much about Danish football (certainly not more than you, I'm sure), but its a subject I'm interested in, and I wanted to know if I could work with you. For starters, I could maybe look at the grammar and language a bit, if you want. Do lemme know if you'd like me to help. Thanks! -Aabha (talk) 14:15, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi again..just thought I'll add the fact that I don't know Danish, the language! -Aabha (talk) 14:20, 19 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hej nice work on the VS Division, perhaps we should update the Superleague aswell :-) Ølstykke FC is now online. VH Tue--Tuelund 01:19, 26 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

VSD-project - should they be moved out?

edit

Should we move the VSD-proposal pages out as "real articles"? The reason I ask is because the logos could be deleted, as it happened with the Kolding FC-logo, as long as it is in the User:-namespace. The only downside that I can see, is that we lose the User:AB-me/VSD-template, but that can be replaced by a template (like Template:Danish Superliga. /AB-me (chit-chat) 15:24, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Obviously, those already nice articles would have to be merged gently ;) Would be nice to get some feedback though. Say, if there isn't anything when I wake up tomorrow, I'll just be bold and start merging and moving /AB-me (chit-chat) 02:27, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi AB-me,

I think /AB and /Kolding FC are perfectly ready to be moved out and merged with the "real articles", as you say:) I have made slight edits to both of them, just minor language changes, so do have a look. -Aabha (talk) 19:39, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

.eps -> .png?

edit

Hej AB-me. De logoer du down/uploader fra Brands of the world, hvordan laver du dem om fra .eps til .png? Ved mig vil Microsoft Picture It! ikke åbne .eps filerne. Kalaha 09:06, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

/AB-me (chit-chat) 21:02, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Holbaek, Naestved, Stenlose BK, Aarhus Fremad, Dalum, Hjorring IF, Jetsmark & Kalundborg GB Kalaha 16:34, 14 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hjørring IF

edit

Hej.

Fair use

edit

Do not place (football) logos in templates as this is not fair use. The logos should only be used once, on the club's main article. ed g2stalk 14:16, 25 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Per Template:Logos, which states that "It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of logos to illustrate the corporation, sports team, or organization in question (...) qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law," I don't think putting the logos in the three templates you've removed them from is anything else. /AB-me (chit-chat) 16:12, 25 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Crossing a flag

edit

I would like to ask you not to cross an official flag on your user page. Imagine someone did that to the Danish flag. This is even considered a crime in many countries. I just regard that as bad manners. I am sure you are able to express your reasonable opinion in a respectful way. ROGNNTUDJUU! 20:43, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Geez - I have to say I don't understand your opinion. I merely see that (former) template as a humorous way indicating your political standpoint (see the expression "about as far as he can throw it"?). I also believe there is difference in crossing a national flag and any other flag (such as the European Union's), although I don't get offended if I were to see Dannebrog crossed (I don't even care about people who are angry about the Muhammad drawings burning it off - at all) unless it is in the sense of saying: "No Swedes (for example) here". Anyway, I don't see how crossing a flag is disrespectful. But then again, I can only speak for myself, and you can only speak for yourself. /AB-me (chit-chat) 21:21, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for answering. I do not speak just for myself, as I already pointed out, it is even considered a crime in many countries to vilify official symbols. Some countries had to work real hard to make it to the EU. Why don't you just write a short line about your objections against it? That would be respectful. ROGNNTUDJUU! 21:27, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
(Note: I looked up "vilify" (which, in turn linked to defamatory) in Wiktionary before writing this.) I don't think crossing a flag is vilifying. (In that case, I feel sorry for the people of Scotland, for insulting the color blue (joking).) I'm not minorizing certain countries' effort to get into the EU, all I'm saying is that I think that EU generally is bad. And I have chosen to express it conveniently with a userbox. That's all. If you can find a image that represent the same opinion in a less vilifying way, please do insert it. Maybe "EU" would be less vilifying? /AB-me (chit-chat) 21:43, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Crossing official symbols is considered vilifying. Crossing letters is not. I would find it more appropriate if you expressed what you do not like about the EU - there are many good reasons. If you just have a crossed flag people may think you disrespect Europeans. ROGNNTUDJUU! 21:47, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okay, two things: 1) I am a European. A lot of Europeans dislike the EU. A lot of people like the EU. The people who like the EU respect the people who dislike the EU's opinion about the EU, regardless of how they express it. 2) Crossing a flag isn't vilifying, in my opinion. Putting a cross on something merely says "I disapprove this". I would say that, in any case, crossing a flag is using Freedom of Speech, which the EU endorses. Thus, the EU endorses the right to strike a cross on the EU-flag. My conclusion: I don't think something is vilifying unless the nation/union/company thinks so. And in this case, it doesn't. /AB-me (chit-chat) 22:09, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
I am very sorry that you do not see that many people are upset if an official symbol of something that represents them is crossed. ROGNNTUDJUU! 22:21, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Don't be. I ain't. Besides, the European Flag represents the Union itself (the political cooperation) rather that all of the people living within the borders of it. /AB-me (chit-chat) 22:29, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
The EU flag represents a political entity just as national flags do. People who identify with it might be offended if you cross it. Especially when there are so many respectful ways to express your fully legitimate opinion. I guess we have to agree to differ. ROGNNTUDJUU! 22:31, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
I agree. Let's get on with writing this encyclopedia! /AB-me (chit-chat) 22:35, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:TV 2 Nyhedskanalen.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:TV 2 Nyhedskanalen.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hi, seeing you are interested in football this is an invitation to contribute to this discussion to clarify certain issues about football player notability. I think clearer guidelines are needed to avoid repeated inappropriate nominations for deletion and time consuming discussions. Cheers! StephP 19:53, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

My edits on the Danish 1st Division 2006-07

edit

Regarding the footnote, it was not removed, it was just moved. With the reference information in the standings, it was confusing to edit, as there was just too much wording there. I changed the format of the footnote, and you can get the link at the bottom of the standings.

The second one: The teams are being promoted to the Superliga, not just for that season. They could stay up, so it's not exclusive for the 2007-08 season. I personally feel that the rest of the articles should be edited to the same format as the First Division, because in my mind, it's more accurate. If you wanted to have the same link as before, that being Danish Superliga 2007-08, you could phrase it like..."The teams promoted will take part in the 2007-08 season of the Danish Superliga." That's more grammatically and factually correct. Che84 23:34, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, AB-me. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Kolding FC.png) was found at the following location: User:AB-me/Kolding FC/Matches. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:34, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

/AB-me (chit-chat) 22:01, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Hjørring IF.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hjørring IF.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Stenløse BK.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:33, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikimania 2010 could be coming to Stockholm!

edit

I'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.

People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! See the bid page on meta and if you like such an idea, please sign the "supporters" list at the bottom. Tack (or takk), and have a wonderful day! Mike H. Fierce! 09:56, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kolding FC (-2005).gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Kolding FC (-2005).gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:41, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello AB-me! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 72 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

2011 WHC Final

edit

Hi AB-me. You've done nice work to expand the section about the final, but I found some mistakes. It was 6-6 indeed, and 9-9 was the other tied in the first half. I noticed also that you changed the Spellerberg's equalizer exactly to 2 seconds left, but more exactly it was 3 seconds left. Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 16:31, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

P.S. However, don't get bothered, since it's too much for the final in the current shape with additional expanding.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 16:40, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Kiril – thanks for the kind words. I'm going to have to stand by that it never was 6-6 however, as per the play-by-play pdf (also referenced at the end of the summary). I also went back and checked with the video as well and the score was indeed 7-5, never 6-6 (screenshot). Also looking at the video, I agree that it was probably more like three seconds remaining but I just went with what the play-by-play said. I agree that the section doesn't need more expanding unless it at some point would warrant a separate article like the major football finals have. /AB-me (chit-chat) 17:58, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
It was a nice game, and it's vague to say what was really until the end, but in this shape the final is well covered. Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 22:50, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

What's the idea behind the "Excluding matches against" column? We need an extra column for a comment? What's wrong wuth a note or a remark in front of the table like WC 2019? That's not what the "custom" style module is meant for. --Sb008 (talk) 03:31, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Sb008: I just adapted {{2018 FIFA World Cup qualification – UEFA Runners-up table}}, changing some text-aligns. I have no strong opinion on the matter, so feel free to change it if you want to. /AB-me (t) 16:30, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
