Hey, I noticed you've made this edit a second time now, and I wanted to point out that the edit is incorrect. The Newark Light Rail never was called the #7 City Subway; take a look at the NLR article for yourself to see this. Thanks! —lensovettalk01:01, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:IngersollRandLogo.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:IngersollRandLogo.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:07, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Your new MTA navbox

edit

Your new MTA navbox, {{MTA (New York)}}, is very well done. Unfortunately, it has considerable overlap with other navigation boxes that already exist. If you look at the bottom of 1 (New York City Subway Service), you will see that the box you added links to many of the same articles as the navbox that was already there, {{NYCS infobox}}.

It may well be that we'll all conclude your box is better, and that the old one should be deprecated. Then again, maybe not. I am fairly confident, however, that both should not be present in the same article. There's too much duplication.

I have launched a discussion topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject New York City Subway. I would ask you to put your thoughts there, along with others who are regularly working on the subway articles. I would also ask you not to put your {{MTA (New York)}} template on any further subway articles until there is a consensus about what to do. Marc Shepherd 14:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Putnam Line

Why have you included the Putnam Line in the MTA infobox, when it was never operated by the MTA (excepting the Marble Hill stub, which is hardly on a par with the Hudson Line, Harlem Line, etc.)? Choess 15:53, 28 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cablevision

edit

Hi, how are you?

I see that you decided to make Cablevision into a disambiguation page instead of how it was currently presented as a redirection to Cablevision (US). You did that without commenting on the Talk page.

I personally believe that the U.S. Cablevision should be the article called Cablevision, not Cablevision (US). The Cablevision from Long Island is an internationally recognized, publically traded company, which owns major national cable networks. The Canadian Cablevision is a small regional cable company in Quebec.

In fact, there are more companies called Cablevision, past and present. More research should be done, and put on Cablevision (disambiguation). Any opinions on this can be placed on the talk page, or send directly to myself. Thanks. Milchama 21:59, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rockland Coaches Inc.

edit

Adam, Red and Tan Lines is still a brand name from Rockland Coaches. It has from the inception of the company to present. Yes, the DOT says Rockland coaches but in fact red and tan is on ALL of the Rockland Coach Busses. So in fact my statement was truthful on the bus or not.

Indeed, my IP address is from Chicago, but my growing up in Bergen County and having an immediate family member working for the company for 30 years tends to back up my statements. Also, you being from Queens may distort your opinion mainly because Rockland Coach does not service your City.

As well you may wish to add while you replace my Rockland coach’s statement. 85% of TOR (Tour of Rockland) is operated by Rockland Coaches Inc. (Red and Tan)

As well, Rockland Coaches is incorporated.

I would have messaged you privately but I could not figure out how to do so.

Hey there, I noticed that you added some bus routes on the 1 train page. I don't think that's a good idea, since it was agreed at WT:NYCPT that the extra bus information would make the table too wordy. Image source problem with Image:Bee Line System.jpg

edit

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Bee Line System.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:52, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Images on New Flyer Industries/Orion Bus Industries

edit

I have noticed that you have removed all bus images for those articles. However, I personally think there should some images in those articles, but not necessarily in-article galleries. The Gillig article has images for each model as good examples. I think that each article should have at least three unique examples each. The Rapid Ride New Flyer DE60LF is a good example as it represents a New Flyer articulated bus as well as a diesel electric hybrid bus. I would also like to see an image for a bus with New Flyer's restyled front end as well as one of New Flyer's older high floor buses.

Good images for the New Flyer article:

You missed one of the three exceptions about piping on disambiguation pages: "Use piping if you are linking to an anchor point on the target page." This is confirmed in the section on URL anchor notation on the same page: you are supposed to pipe when the referenced material is contained on another page. I've reverted to my version, and made further changes in conformance with MOS:DAB. The way you have it, the user isn't even being taken to the promised material, and is likely to conclude that the link is broken and may even delete it. —Largo Plazo (talk) 16:27, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why did you change the licensing on the SEPTA logo? Just because the logo is trademarked doesn't mean its copyrighted — there's a big difference between the two. Wikipedia has no policy against using trademarks, and the logo itself is in public domain because it is basically a different colored version of the original logo (Image:SEPTA logo 1970s.svg), which is in public domain as well. In addition to that, simple geometric shapes, such as that which make up the SEPTA logo, cannot be copyrighted because of their simplicity (see Commons:Template:PD-textlogo). –Dream out loud (talk) 19:58, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

George (bus service)

edit

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article George (bus service), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of George (bus service)

edit

An editor has nominated George (bus service), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/George (bus service) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:44, 1 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Scarborough RT

You definitely have Ellesmere and Lawrence East stations mixed up. I've been riding the Scarborough RT for over 10 years now, and I can tell you that the graffiti wall (seen in the picture) is next to Lawrence East. Blackjays1 (talk) 10:06, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Public Transit Systems in Ontario

edit

When you created Template:GTA Mass Transit you wondered whether Hamilton Street Railway should be included. It is hard to define the limits of the GTA and this got me thinking about what should be entered or eliminated. For an example of my thinking, Coach Canada, VIA, Amtrack, etc., are not mass transit or exclusively GTA, and at one time even the airport was entered. Components of the Toronto system are probably better accessed from Template:TTC. Inspired by your original thoughts and keeping it exclusive to transit systems, I have now created the wider ranging Template:Public Transit Systems in Ontario, which could possibly replace the GTA template. -Secondarywaltz (talk) 00:21, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:MTA (New York) bus and subway fares

edit

A tag has been placed on Template:MTA (New York) bus and subway fares requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{tranclusionless}}</noinclude>).

You don't list an article at Articles for Deletion if you've placed a {{prod}} tag on. Also this is not the proper way to format an AfD discussion anyway -- don't worry, it's a common mistake to make. I have placed a {{prod2}} on the article, indicating that I agree with the prod. Should it be disputed, I will take your rationale and copy-paste it into a proper AfD discussion. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 03:33, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Greetings, Adam. Where did the nice photo gallery go? I don't see it in the Commons, though you indicate moving it there. Are you planning to add it to the photos already there? To me it was one of the most lively features of the article (and relevant). Is there a policy mandating that it can't remain where it was? If there is no such restriction, I would like to bring it back. Hertz1888 (talk) 20:47, 5 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I don't understand either why you deleted the Gallery. Most of those Gallery images haven't been moved to Commons and at least some of these images should remain in the article anyway. Folks shouldn't have to migrate away from a Wikipedia article to see images of the subject, so I'm reverting to previous version. JGHowes talk - 21:05, 5 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bus portraits

edit

Excellent bus photography, Adam. I am not sure why you have changed the image in the infobox for Coach Canada to this one Image:Coach Canada MCI J4500 83918 in New Jersey USA.jpg that shows a paint job for Safeway Tours, a client. I thought your previous picture Image:Coach Canada 83585.jpg was an excellent representation of a typical Coach Canada bus, except that the bus floated on a sea of asphalt. You just need to trim the bottom and modify the size to 1024 x 576, which would give a contemporary 'widescreen' format of 16 x 9 and ground the bus better. Both pictures should be shown somewhere in the article because the tour business is a big part of what they do and Safeway Tours ideally represents that. Keep up the good work. -Secondarywaltz (talk) 12:51, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have now added the fleet number to the article, it was 27513. I have however been to the Cobham bus rally (in the snow - it nearly got cancelled!! :) ), where I got a photo of a standard Stagecoach Winchester bus. Do you think for the Stagecoach group article, a bus in the standard livery but still showing the buses used in that area would be better or worse than a special park and ride variation?? Thanks, Arriva436talk 16:45, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have now done this. However I left the other picture on there (I was going to remove it) because I decided it had more value than I first thought, an image to show that not all buses are corporate branded. Arriva436talk 17:56, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Coach USA references

edit

I'm glad to see you developing Coach USA, but I noticed there are no references in the article. The Surface Transportation Board is one good source.

Divisions

edit

After sell offs and consolidation the remaining management companies seem to be: [1]

  • Coach USA North Central (we might call it the midwest)
  • Coach USA Northeast (your 'hood)
  • Coach Canada (my country - but it is part of Coach USA)
  • Megabus (with two operators; the original Megabus and now Megabus Northeast. NEW)

Operations

edit

You removed the subsidiary list, which was derived from the official website, saying that it was no longer necessary because "companies still existing are in the table below". Even if that were true, the default Wikipedia search does not include templates so those items have to be mentioned somewhere in an article to make them universally available. Are you saying that Coach USA no longer runs sightseeing operations in New York, Pittsburg and Chicago? Do companies like Cape Transit, Country Road Tours, Mountaineer Coach, Park Tours, etc., not exist? The information on that list is only a starting point and far from being removed the information should be expanded with any missing articles or redirects created. I also wondered why you 'amalgamated' several units under Olympia Trails without citing any official verification.

Thank you again for your efforts. You have your own ideas about how you wish to develop these articles and I will not interfere with that. My time is limited at the moment, but I will submit any additional supporting references I discover. -Secondarywaltz (talk) 15:34, 19 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bus Pictures

edit

  • This picture of yours, taken on a rainy day in Hamilton, has always been one of my favourites. The atmosphere with the reflections on the wet streets and the buildings and trees framing the bus - this is just excellent. The only problem I had, as I often experience with my own attempts, is that the bus 'floated' on a sea of asphalt. I have created this version by simply cutting off that excess and grounding the bus, which now leaps out like a Ti-Cat. Please check that I got the attribution right.
  • I have taken a couple of pictures of Academy Express operated coaches in downtown Toronto, but I can't seem to find any relevance in the article for this type of tour bus. They are Image:Academy_Bus_1715.JPG and Image:Academy_Bus_1717.JPG.
  • p.s. I still think your Coach Canada bus picture is better than mine, but I will keep trying to get something with a nicer background than either of those. How about Niagara Falls?
Thank you. -Secondarywaltz (talk) 16:33, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Category Removal

edit

I saw that you removed the category for Image:Fox river grove 1995 bus accident scene.jpg. Why? That is exactly the category it belongs in. It is an image of an incident that happened in Fox River Grove, Illinois, so it belongs in Category:Images of Fox River Grove, Illinois.--Kranar drogin (talk) 10:10, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your right, and it was deleted from the Wikipedia, but with the Illinois project we categorize all our pictures along with project tags as you can see here with Category:Images of Illinois. There is no rule against doing so, and actually sections such as DYK like the fact that we tag our stuff here so they don't have to upload, lock, then delete once it has been off the front page. So, being part of the Illinois Project, we will continue to do so until it breaks a rule, which I don't foresee it doing. I can understand why you did it though.--Kranar drogin (talk) 01:57, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of List of Megabus and Megatrain services

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Megabus and Megatrain services, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Quantum of Solace disambiguation

Not that I'm disputing that there should be a disambiguation page, but as the film is highly likely to be the primary topic for this title, wouldn't it make more sense to have Quantum of Solace as the article for the film, with a hatnote linking to Quantum of Solace (disambiguation), which would link to the film and the other topics? photo use: NJ Transit Bus

edit

RE: New Jersey Transit Nova RTS 82VN suburban 1587 at Willowbrook Mall, prior to being wrapped for gobus.

Hi, Adam -

This is John Passarella. I'm an author whose most recent book has an NJ transit bus in it. I'm mocking up a "book cover" for a free eSerial (chapter by chapter) release of my book. I was interested in using your NJ transit photo (see above description) as one of several images (in a montage) on the cover. I'm isolating it from the background, so you only see the bus, the first third of it in its current placement on my mock cover. So, I have three questions, (1) can use your image on my Website promoting the free eSerial with a photo credit? (If so, let me know how it should read and what URL you'd like me to use. (2) It's possible I may use the cover in the first chapter release of the eSerial, or even with EVERY chapter if it doesn't seem like overkill: would it be okay to credit you with the first such use? Or would you want a credit in every chapter? (I haven't even decided yet if I'd use it with every chapter, or if I'd repeat all the copyright info, etc., but if I did the former, I'd probably do the latter.) Again, how would you want such a credit to read. (3) At the end of the eSerial run, I may either sell print rights or release the whole book as a print on demand title. If the former, the publisher would no doubt commission their own cover; if the latter, I might use the cover I used all along for the eSerial. With Print on Demand, the total number of copies is unknown, purely "on demand" as it says. Again, I can credit you here, in print form and that would definitely be in each copy subsequently printed. If that use is okay, how would you want your credit to read in the print version?

I generally get photos from stock photo sites, but didn't have much luck on the NJ Transit photos. I liked the angle of your photo and the size was large enough for me to use in a mockup. If you have a higher resolution version you'd like me to use instead, I'd love to have it. The bus portion of the whole cover is small, so it's not critical. I think I can get away with the size/resolution I have.

My author Website is here http://www.passarella.com if you want to check out my prior novels. This one (SHIMMER) is a bit of an experiment, at least with the free eSerial.

Thank you! John Passarella - jpassarella[@]gmail[dot]com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.98.160.84 (talk) 19:46, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your uploads

edit

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! It's a recent event where facts will be in flux but not a current event that is progressing. We can word it in many ways to make it acceptable to all. User F203 (talk) 15:47, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just because others use it could mean that we have all been sloppy and didn't realize it until now. I have modified it even less and just the last few words. Initially, I changed "current event" to "recent event" but I kept that so that it would be agreeable to those who don't like change. User F203 (talk) 15:51, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Blue Bird(?) bus with 'shuttle' sign in collage

edit

On the 'New Jersey Transit Bus Operations' page is a collage of some of its fleet, and among the shots is one of what I believe to be a Blue Bird or similar inset-motor unit, which I have personally seen previously in Easton/Phillipsburg, taken in 2008 in Journal Square, Jersey City. What route was this unit travelling, do you recall? Zigwithbag (talk) 14:26, 9 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Greenie

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Greenie. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greenie. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:07, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can I ask you a question?

edit

Earlier, NY MTA MCI D4500CT was Caterpillar, but engine problem resulted to change it to Cummins, and you change it back to Caterpillar. Where did you get the engine information from? New Jersey Transit's roster's D4500CT from NY MTA says the engine is Cummins, and that is a total mix up. Information on TTMG is unreliable, as there are too many incorrect information (like a motor of R160). Even earlier on the MTA Regional Bus Operations bus fleet page has a history of putting Cummins. Please get back to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Takuma Ishizeki (talkcontribs) 15:40, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Image request

Mr. Moreira,

I'm at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ, and am working on a news story to be used inside our museum. We post brief news items on rolling computer displays around the museum, and I was working on a story about the new tunnel under the Hudson River, the Mass Transit Tunnel. I'd like to use your image, "NJ Transit GP40PH-2B 4216 waits to pull Train 4622.jpg" as an illustration alongside the story.

I'm writing because we'd like to give you proper credit, but do not have the space to post the full text of the GDFL license alongside the credit (and my reading of your Licensing Guide indicates that the full text of the license must appear unless you grant permission otherwise). We certainly have space, however, to use the text "(CC 3.0) Adam E. Moreira" as the photo credit.

Please let me know if that is acceptable.

You are now a Reviewer

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 02:14, 18 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Mr. Moreira,

I am preparing a report for MTA on the operations of their stations. You have many very good photos that illustrate points I am trying to make in my report. I would like to get permission to use some of your photos and if you have any others that you suggest I look at I would appreciate it.

If I do use the photos, how do I credit you for the work?

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Tribune Company logo.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Tribune Company logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Need to disambiguate between Devils teams

edit

There was no need to disambiguate between Devils teams (on the Kalamzoo Wings' roster) because the city name did that. This was an accepted practice for WP as long as I can remember: team nicknames were used unless the parent & its affiliated team shared the same nickname in which case the city name was used (see the Trenton Devils' roster). DOMA

edit

Sorry to reverse your recent edit of DOMA but it was dead wrong. Don't know where you got the idea. While there are some sources that occasionally talk carelessly about DOMA being declared unconstitutional when they should say section 3 only, no one has ever commented on the severability of DOMA's 2 sections. They are distinct and unrelated, and we have on Wikipedia links to the various court decisions that consistently ignore section 2. It's not been the subject of a case. The 2013 Stanley Cup Finals article says that Karlsson spent most of the seaon in Rockford. That is not true. He was recalled on February 15 because Chicago decided to have a third string goalie as a spare. Proposed deletion of KET (disambiguation)

edit

The article KET (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The content of this page is already included in Ket, another disambiguation page whose title differs only by capitalisation

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of The Dog House

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Replaceable fair use File:Rae Carruth mugshot North Carolina DOC.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Rae Carruth mugshot North Carolina DOC.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 01:08, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Alaska Airlines More to Love

edit

Hi, AEMoreira042281. I'm eager to get a shot of the More to Love Alaska Airlines jet, which celebrates the acquisition of Virgin America by the Alaska Air Group. As you have great success with securing aircraft images, would you have any suggestions for how we could coordinate to get a shot of said jet? I know the Bounty Board is no longer in operation, but I'm sure there's some method to get Wikipedians to peel their eyes for this one. DARTHBOTTO talkcont 06:18, 1 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

There are a few picture requests that I can ask you to do. This is all NYC Subway/Staten Island Railway related. The reason I am choosing you is because you are an excellent photographer, and you photos have placed a huge interest for me. The following photos I would like you to take are:

  • Lefferts Boulevard shuttle train (the late night train with a blue  )
  • R46 train operating on the  )
  • Deck Roof Hi-V car 3662 at the Shore Line Trolley Museum (the only Deck Roof car left in existence).
  • R42 train operating on the   shuttle (has a brown  )
  • One of the two remaining SIRT ME-1 cars (either car 388 at the Shore Line Trolley Museum or car 366 at the Seashore Trolley Museum, or even both if possible.

That is currently all I can think of right now. If you can do any of these, please let me know on my talk page. I would also like a link to your photos when uploaded so I can further categorize them. Thanks!

Hi I'd like to use one of the photos in your composite of Metro-North trains. I'd like to use it on a web site to illustrate part of an article on hiking. Would that be OK? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:405:4A80:9E50:822:7E88:959:A2AB (talk) 21:37, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Capital News 9 Albany logo.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Capital News 9 Albany logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 15 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
