Victoria Square article - Points of interest
editGreat work on this article. I have a suggestion that you create new headings instead of "Points of interest". There could be separate top-level headings for: Buildings, Bridges, Statues, Installations, etc.
The content in the existing "Points of interest" section includes history, and buildings that are no longer in existence. Perhaps this is out of scope, but one building that I remember from my childhood is the Hay's department store (subsequently Farmers), that had a frontage on Armagh Street, facing the square. The building was notable for many reasons, including the roof top playground for kids, and the (rather dodgy) Father Christmas with the beckoning finger that was mounted on the front of the building, directly facing Victoria Square. Finish the WP:SPLIT procedure on Christchurch
editHi Cloventt, given the acceptance above, you are free to finish the trimming of the Christchurch article in the history section. I have preemptively added the {{main}} hatnote to the section. Cheers, microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 18:56, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- Great work on preparing the new article split out from the Christchurch article. This had led to a major improvement. It has resolved the overly-large amount of content about history in the main article, reduced the difficulties of enhancing coverage of history within that article, and created an interesting new article that can now be further expanded.
- One of the points of the history of Christchurch that is worth expanding is the work associated with land drainage - since this was so fundamental to settlement on the flat land. I have a useful source, and plan to add some content from this source over the next week or two. I will also aim to include a small amount of the most pertinent information about land drainage in the main Christchurch article._Marshelec (talk) 07:58, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
Victoria Square - GA review
editI am willing to undertake a GA review of Victoria Square, Christchurch. However, before I begin (or someone else gets started first), it is best that we find a time when both of us can be available. The guidelines suggest that GA reviews should be completed ideally within 7 days, but this is only possible if the nominator and reviewer are both available and can commit the time required. Please let me know a period over the next two months that would be best for you, I will see if we can agree a period for the review._Marshelec (talk) 01:49, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- Awesome! Thank you for the offer. I am very flexible, so whenever suits you the best. David Palmer//cloventt (talk) 03:24, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Bots require approval
editSee Wikipedia:Bot policy. I'm not sure if your macron removal-detection bot falls within this, as it seems to be mostly about bots which edit in article space. If you haven't already, I suggest you read the policy and if there's any likelihood that your bot needs approval, better to ask about it (perhaps at Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard) than ignore the potential issue. It is also possible that the functionality could be incorporated more efficiently in an WP:Edit filter, which allows for edits meeting a given criteria to be logged.-Gadfium (talk) 22:56, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! As per the policy
In addition, any bot or automated editing process that affects only the operator's or their own userspace (user pages, user talk pages, user's module sandbox pages and subpages thereof), and which are not otherwise disruptive, may be run without prior approval.
so I think its ok. - Edit filters look interesting, but I don’t have access to that feature. David Palmer//cloventt (talk) 01:15, 28 October 2024 (UTC)

Macron monitor suggestion
editSometimes there are links like [[2016 Kaikōura earthquake|a magnitude 7.8 earthquake]] where although it is true that a macron has been removed, there are no words that should have a macron. If you are still interested in working on your monitor, then maybe it should check if the pipe creates a macronless word or not. ―Panamitsu (talk) 05:25, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
