Speedy Deletion Question

edit

Why is This Logo being nominated for Speedy Deletion? I'm just wondering. DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 07:08, 13 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Only the local description page is up for deletion, because of the chosen filename on Commons was already used by this file: File:WQGA former logo (1998-2010).png. (WWSN is a former callsign of WQGA.) Armbrust The Homunculus 07:20, 13 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your image was inserted successfully on the page File:Wqyk-color-logo official.png, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. non-free images have to be low resolution and small - the image you added was too big - keep below 100,000 pixels.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:40, 17 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I saw that you recently made an edit to the File:Wpbf 2010.png file, and was wondering if you are good at making images transparent? The new logo ([1]) has a background that I am not sure how to remove properly. I just think the new logo should be used. They use it on their website and social media pages. If you are not sure how to do that, then I can send in a request. Thanks, Corkythehornetfan(talk) 05:06, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid that's over my head. I'm generally very good at removing White Background and uploading as PNG images stuff where the Source Link is in a JPEG format but, generally-speaking, anything requiring fancy Image Editing software is not my area of expertise. I use free Online Image Editing software, such as Free Online Image Editor which doesn't allow me to zoom in to take a closer look at what I'm editing. So, in other words, if there is some TINY amount of background requiring removing, I'm often searching for a needle in a haystack and cannot zoom in to see how good my aim is. Wikipedians who are in possession of Adobe Photoshop might be able to assist you here, though. Thus so far, This Is The Very BEST NEW/Silver Logo Of The Station I Can Find. It's their Horizontal/News logo but doesn't appear to be their station logo. Ugh, I HATE how the only copy of their recent logo that I can find are those darn JPEG files with Opaque Background! And it even irritated me more that I could only find the Direct Source Link to this Image but not the darn page that consisted of the image; I instead needed to link people to the FRONT PAGE of the website! That totally stinks! I'm sorry I couldn't be of any further assistance to you, though. Try This Image, Though. It's from This Page. That really bugs me, because I'm very OCD about including BOTH the Direct Source Link to Image AND the exact website I got that image from. I was submitting the upload request to another Wikipedian who instead includes the Direct Links only but not the webpage. Who knows, maybe the webpage had been since taken down. LOTS of times, images remain up over the web even though their origin/source webpages once consisting of them has long since been removed. Eventually, probably those images that I cannot locate any source pages for will eventually turn into dead/inactive links (at least for all I know)… DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 05:20, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
This Logo is A LOT cleaner, contains A LOT less compression artifacts, and is in a PNG format already (probably why it looks so much better). Look, it's even transparent already (around the edges)! If touched up with the proper Image Editing software (most likely NOT the Free/Online software), it'll be all ready-to-go. But I cannot be that certain someone who performs that touch-up work. Someone else will have to do it. I remove NON-Complex Background only. Ah, and This Logo is from The Google Play Page for The "Hurricane Tracker WPBF 25" Weather App. Now, all you need to do is hunt down a Wikipedian who owns Adobe Photoshop software. You're almost there, Corkythehornetfan(talk)! By the way, I'm undergoing a project in the near future. I'm currently saving the logos for ALL the Bounce TV network so that I can make sure that all the Bounce TV affiliate logos are up-to-snuff. They will all have transparent background (as many Bounce TV logos are although in a PNG file format, uploaded with Opaque Background). DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 05:30, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
There's Also This Main Non-Transparent Logo. DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 06:05, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I believe I saw you uploaded some SVG files a couple of days ago. I was wondering if you'd remove the background for the File:Emporia State Athletics logo (vectorised).svg. My computer won't take .SVG format so I hope you can do it! Thanks, Corkythehornetfan(talk) 20:42, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Nope, it was not I who uploaded that logo. I tend to focus strictly on Radio and TV logos. But if somebody could please consider Vectorizing the logo for WNAC-DT2, that would be REALLY super-duper. DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 04:15, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source/license for File:Wfff open.PNG

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Wfff open.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

License tagging for File:Mytvstlouis.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Mytvstlouis.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:WWLP-DT2 10PM News Open.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:WWLP-DT2 10PM News Open.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:42, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Well, now there’s absolutely no cited sources to prove the existence of MyNetworkTV programming (because you deleted those sources), so I guess that means you’ve gotta delete that too, because the MyNetworkTV is now not cited and therefore not proven…DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 07:51, 13 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Bounce Vegas.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Bounce Vegas.png.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.   Hello. I wanted to let you know that in your recent contributions to WKTV, you seemed to act as if you were the owner of the page. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. This means that editors do not own articles, including ones they create, and should respect the work of their fellow contributors. If you create or edit an article, remember that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Regarding Mvcg66b3r's Message to me: Well, I was only trying to help but maybe I need to learn a more correct way of helping. What we might have here is a case of ignorance to policy, on my part, in the face of much enthusiasm. In my edit description, I believe I acknowledged concise as a relative weakness of mine (I'm often very wordy in my writing), thereby welcoming people to "clean up" the article of excess information, if need be.DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 15:51, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Also, why do you always have to capitalize every word in your edit summaries? Mvcg66b3r (talk) 15:55, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Ouch, I feel attacked here but I'll take that latest advice to you from heart. "No good deed goes unpunished," I guess. In light of the fact that all that effort I put in isn't really hard work to me because I enjoy doing it, I guess I don't fell quite as bad being criticized. I realize that you didn't to irritate me and you were only trying to help. I don't mean this in offensive way but I know a person that whenever my father and I go all out of our way to surprise with an extra shopping trip, always mentions things they wanted but that we forgot. The person then gets upset with us for forgetting that one or two item. I often feel like, come on, we went through all that effort of doing all that extra shopping and yet all that we face is criticism. Of course, without criticism, I guess we don't learn anything.DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 16:06, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions. One of your recent contributions to WTOK-TV has been reverted or removed, because it contains speculative or unconfirmed information about a future event. Please only add material about future events if it is verifiable, based on a reliable source. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 01:18, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

To Mvcg66b3r (talk) - Understood. Speaking of the importance of backing information up with valid sources, I've coincidentally just inserted a whole bunch of citation needed tags within the WGEM-TV article, regarding unsourced claims within the Digital channels listings within the Digital television section of the article regarding the supposed near-future additions of Court TV on WGEM-DT5, JN on WGEM-DT6, and Dabl on WGEM-DT7. Neither of those aformentioned programming services have any mention on the Digital TV Market Listing for WGEM and I can't find any source of information to back up the claims made by whoever had added all these feeds to the Digital channels listings for WGEM-TV. By-The-Way: I was even astute enough to have included a mention of WP:NOTCRYSTAL in my article edit notes. You can have a look for yourself but, as you can see, the supposed near-future addition of either of those services to the fifth, sixth, and seventh digital subchannels of WGEM-TV cannot be backed up with valid sources, at least as far as I can see...DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 06:00, 5 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:WSBK-TV New 3D Logo (As of September 2015).png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:WSBK-TV New 3D Logo (As of September 2015).png.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 16 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

DizzyMosquitoRadio99 (talk) 00:20, 3 May 2024 (UTC) I'm trying to Upload the Logo of KELO-DT2 "KELOXTRA" but I'm really, really struggling. I've been trying to Upload the file since 7PM (nearly 80 Minutes ago), but it keeps giving me error messages! I'm doing the very best I can but I've really been struggling here. The Image Upload Wizard tool has apparently changed since the Late-2010's and has made it more difficult (than it used to be) to Upload images.Reply
