Image copyright ownership
editAs you have claimed that you scanned the following images yourself, please explain if you do have the copyright and then release them into the public domain:
We cannot accept your public domain claim if you cannot prove that you own or have created these images. Since You cannot scan someone else's work and release them into the public domain without the creator's permission, please provide more evidence of their underlying copyright ownership so we can verify your public domain claim. Thank you.--Jusjih 13:51, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:TRLOzUKLogo.gif
editThis file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:TRLOzUKLogo.gif. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 14:36, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:The Veronicas Hook Me Up Video.JPG
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The Veronicas Hook Me Up Video.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:The Veronicas Hook Me Up Video.JPG)
editThanks for uploading Image:The Veronicas Hook Me Up Video.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. The Legacy (Israel Album)
editA {{prod}} template has been added to the article The Legacy (Israel Album), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. tomasz. 22:56, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:MTV Full Tank.JPG
editThanks for uploading Image:MTV Full Tank.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:01, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Tami Chynn ft Akon Frozen.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Tami Chynn ft Akon Frozen.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Image permission problem with Image:TheVeronicasARIAAwards08a.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:TheVeronicasARIAAwards08a.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/articles/2009/02/05/1233423454187.html. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Storkk (talk) 12:21, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. File source problem with File:RevengeIsSweeterTour.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:RevengeIsSweeterTour.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:49, 4 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Radiant chains (talk) 06:49, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
- Editing video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participating in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.
Proposed deletion of ARIA Dance Chart
editThe article ARIA Dance Chart has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unsourced, Google and news.google search doesn't indicate encyclopedic notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Jeandré (talk), 2009-10-04t21:28z 21:28, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of No Ordinary Morning
editI have nominated No Ordinary Morning, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/No Ordinary Morning. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Alan - talk 04:10, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Dear DonEd,
You are receiving this message because either [[Category:WikiProject Video games members]] or {{User WPVG}}
is somewhere in your userspace, and you are currently listed in the "Unknown" section on the project's member list.
The member list is meant to provide a clearer picture of active membership. It is recommended that you update your status if you plan to regularly:
- Edit video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participate in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Members listed in the "Unknown" section will be removed from the membership list and category at the end of January 2010. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Page moves
editRegarding 2008 Helpmann Awards, 8th Helpmann Awards, 2009 Helpmann Awards, 9th Helpmann Awards: please familiarise yourself with Help:Moving a page. Your method of "cut & paste" discarded the articles' history and left incoming links, e.g. Special:WhatLinksHere/2008 Helpmann Awards, pointing to an empty page. If you want to persist with the new article names, I suggest you seek administrative assistance to merge the histories and create proper redirects. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:35, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

editThe article Prima Donna (album) is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Australian Film Institute Award for Best Film
editHi DonEd, glad to know my review comments were helpful. Have you tried contacting the Australian Film Institute and asking them about the Award for Best Film nominees prior to 1976? It may well be that it is similar to the Academy Award for Best Foreign film (which simply gave the award the first several years). The other place I would look is at new sorces from the first year that you know there are nominees. These may say something like "The AFI has announced the nominees for its best film award, unlike previous years when they simply announced the winner". If after all this, you still cannot find it, I would say something like all reliable sources used in this article make no mention of nominees prior to 1976 (assume I've gotten the year right). Hope this helps, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:34, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
The Veronicas discography at Peer Review
editI've completed my PR of The Veronicas discography at archive1. Hope you enjoy fixing up the list and that your work is rewarded by it becoming Feautured.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:40, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Your APRA refs need to be sharper. I've provided an example for "What's Going On?". Each song's writers will need their own APRA ref, don't link the publisher after first time. Once you have all songs individualised delete the generic search engine ref.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 07:33, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- I've done a few edits at the discography. However, I have additional queries:
- Where is the live album? Infobox says there is one. Exposed... The Secret Life of The Veronicas is classified as a live album in its article. Here its classified as a Video album.
- Live in Australia 2006 Revolution Tour is the CD supplied with Exposed... The Secret Life of The Veronicas. Should it be mentioned in the discography to solve the anomaly of the infobox entry? Or is there another Live album?shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:54, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- Where are the nine B-sides? Also in infobox but no mention in this discography.
- Two music videos need directors. If unable to find the directors then a note is to be supplied. If not found it may block possible FL status.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:54, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- One of the refs (currently No. 47) appears to be a dead link: it might have an archive copy available.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 11:15, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've done a few edits at the discography. However, I have additional queries:
Autopatrolled
editHello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:
- This permission does not give you any special status or authority
- Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
- You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
- If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
- If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 15:34, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hi DonEd, the reason you were given this right is because you were on a list of potential candidates for the autopatrolled userright. However, merely being on the list isn't automatic qualification for the userright, rather, the criteria are: 1. creating a lot of articles, and 2. creating articles of good quality. As your articles fits that criteria, you got the userright. I hope this answers your question. Best. Acalamari 10:31, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Page titles
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Template:AACTAAward BestActress in a Supporting Role 1976–1980 a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Template:AACTAAward BestSupportingActress 1976–1980. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of AACTA Award for Best Original Screenplay, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.atthecinema.net/nominations-for-inaugural-aacta-awards-announced.

ARIA Best Pop/Dance Release in 1994
editARIA split the above category into two for 1995, the 1994 award was won by a pop release (Peter Andre's self-titled album) but the category was open to dance releases (e.g. Sound Unlimited's "One More from the City" and Bellydance's One Blood, which were other final nominees). In 1995 Itch-E and Scratch-E won the inaugural ARIA Best Dance Release award and Tina Arena won the inaugural Best Pop Release award. I've updated the Best Dance Release page and provided refs for the win by Itch-E and Scratch-E. I don't have a wayback url for ARIA's award page for 1994 and so I can't verify the combined award from that year, however the wayback url for 1995 includes the statement by ARIA that "The Best Pop/Dance Release was this year split into two categories, won by Tina Arena and Itch-e & Scratch-e respectively". In later years ARIA has not saved the information about that 1995 win by Itch-E and Scratch-E nor about the split in the previous year's award. I haven't changed the Pop Release page to reflect this additional information.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 23:49, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

1990 ARIA Music Awards
editAccording to a number of sources Hunters & Collectors were nominated for six awards at the ARIA Music Awards of 1990 but only won one - 'Best Cover Art'. ARIA Awards of 2014
editIt's good to see you're already working the ARIA Awards offshoots. I've started a user draft of ARIA Music Awards of 2014. I'm working through the noms in order; you're welcome to jump in whenever you like. I'll be moving it to the mainspace after I've finished all the noms.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 18:37, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- The article is up: if you have the time, could you check for errors, please?shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 20:07, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for your assistance here. Both the Producer of the Year and Best Video parts are now better. Good on ya!shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 04:50, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- I need your advice, consider Best Cover Art nominees. I have recently reverted a change for Sia's album cover 1000 Forms of Fear. However further investigation presents contradictory information:
- The article's reference [1], which is from ARIA's website, has Sia Furler as the cover artist: both in the intro area where Sia's six noms are described with "and ‘Best Cover Art’ designed by Sia". The category itself has "Sia for Sia - 1000 Forms of Fear (Inertia Recordings)".
- The change had Zoe Zag as the cover artist but provided no reference. However, consider this. Also ARIA's website, which does show Zoe Zag as the cover artist!
- AllMusic's credits for the album give Zoë Zag as supplying "fonts", and Sia as providing "Art Direction, Design, Executive Producer, Photography, Primary Artist".
- Options:
- Leave Sia as sole cover artist.
- Change to Zoë Zag as sole cover artist per ARIA's website 2nd ref above.
- Change to Sia and Zoë Zag as cover artists per ARIA's website 2nd ref and AllMusic ref above.
- Which of these choices do you suggest?shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:41, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for your assistance here. Both the Producer of the Year and Best Video parts are now better. Good on ya!shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 04:50, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your input & sources here. I've gone for Sia Furler as Best Cover Artist. I've added a footnote to the effect that Zoe Zag is cited at another ARIA source, and that Anita Marisa Boriboon and Sia are given as designers with Zag as font creator according to the album's liner notes (with your url as a courtesy online version).shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 10:11, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:AACTA Award Ceremonies
editA tag has been placed on Template:AACTA Award Ceremonies requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New Challenge for Oceania and Australia
editHi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

List of Australian Academy Award winners and nominees
editWe were working on List of Australian Academy Award winners and nominees at the same time. I came to this page because your edits culminating with your edit of 04:48, 3 December 2017 inserted 20 or 21 <small> ... <small />
, which resulted in a self-closed tags error for each <small />
and a missing end tag error for each <small>
. I fixed those, and while I was editing I fixed many more things, and when I tried to save, I got an edit confict notice, and rather than try to work with that, I did a history, attempted to copy your recent changes into my version, and saved my version. If I lost any of your changes along the way, sorry, I tried my best. —Anomalocaris (talk) 05:45, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

The file File:BranNueDaeSoundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Bran Nue Dae (film)#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:38, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
