Image:Ryo Fukawa.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ryo Fukawa.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 03:42, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

RefDeskBot Mess-up

edit

Hi – thanks for explaining that problem to me on my talk page, and apologies for the time I took to respond! I took at look at RDB's contribs, and it seems to have archived the HD twice – which probably caused the problem. Luckily, I know exactly why – the archival didn't run at midnight, so I had to run it manually at around 11:26 UTC – but I put the code in a while(true) statement – ie – it decided to run infinitely. I though I'd caught the problem in time, but it appears not! This is my theory for why it happenned (that is – it's my fault!), but I may be wrong, though this seems to be the most obvious reason. Thanks again -- Martinp23 11:27, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

RfA thanks

Thank you for the Support

I'd like to express my huge thanks to you, Freshgavin, for your support in my recent RfA, which closed with 100% support at 71/0/1. Needless to say, I am very suprised at the huge levels of support I've seen on my RfA, and at the fact that I only had give three answers, unlike many other nominees who have had many, many more questions! I'll be careful with my use of the tools, and invite you to tell me off if I do something wrong! Thanks, Martinp23 14:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC) Reply

About Refdeskbot – I'd just better make it clear that I prefer the current system above anything else and am quite happy with it (I'd have to say that :p). Hopefully people will settle down about the change soon (and the IP who took offence at it has left a message at WT:BOTS, asking for a change, just FYI). Reference Desk Problem

edit

I don't know if someone does it manually or if its done by a bot, however, the porblem lies here.

All Question before December 31 have been archived.

However this is not being done for Jan 1, 2007 on all reference desks, and now they are exploding in size.

Furthermore the new Entertainment desk has never been archived.

What I mean by archive is you know once archived {{is there on the start date of archive with the date}}. --Judged 05:00, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Logo-text-japanese-2.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Logo-text-japanese-2.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:06, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Waikui.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Thanks for uploading File:Becky.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Downtown kombi.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Downtown kombi.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Non-free use disputed for Image:Yasuda_dvd.jpg

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:Yasuda dvd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 20:26, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Yasuda dai circus.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Yasuda dai circus.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. Proposed deletion of Inu ga Nyaa to Naita Hi

edit

The article Inu ga Nyaa to Naita Hi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources in en.wiki article or in ja.wiki article. Search does not bring up any reliable independent sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
