Your Signature
editRemember when we thought that your signature looked gray in Internet Explorer? That's not the worst of it. It comes up gray in Safari, too, on Mac OS X Panther. Just thought I should let you know. ← El Chico! Talk 12:49, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- also on firefox. is that not intentional? Btw, I (and anyone with some knowledge of greek) persistently parse your signature as "ilgaear". Is this also intentional? You are perfectly free to choose any sig you like, of course, I'm just commenting that I find these 'greek-letter-lookalikes' slightly jarring. dab 14:00, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- No, I think he'd actually like it to be a bright greenish color, though the code he's using is 333333. I wonder what browser doesn't display that as gray? — El Chico! Talk 14:51, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- It's supposed to be gray, I was a little distraught when I saw it as green in IE. — Ilγαηερ (Tαlκ) 22:29, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Okay, I seem to have had it backwards. But you just singlehandedly proved that IE can't properly render colors. Believe it or not, I find that the US English version of IE seems to render “grey” better than “gray”. Try that. — El Chico! Talk 20:50, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I think that's what I ended up doing — Ilγαηερ (Tαlκ) 22:19, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Interestingly enough, IE 5 for Mac OS X renders the colors correctly, but the characters are more spread out—it's like there's a space between each Greek letter. What browser and platform do you use? — El Chico! Talk 17:12, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I have IE 6 on WinXP and it renders it correctly. Bart133 (t) 23:11, 20 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- It does now ;)
- I think that's what I ended up doing — Ilγαηερ (Tαlκ) 22:19, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)

editI am such an idiot. Mr. Treason has got me going nuts. I deleted a perfectly useful Mr. Treason talk page. I need some ibuprofen. — Ilγαηερ (Tαlκ) 00:38, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
heya i believe you left me a message. i do not understand your meaning. please clarify this was your message: Thank you for testing your wikipedia powers. Your test worked and was deleted. Please use the Sandbox for future testing. thanks
Communist
edit'Just because people disagree with your ideas, doesn't make them conservative or part of a wikiclique. Please conduct conversations and discussions civilly. You wouldn't want people in real life dismissing any opposing comment of yours as communist, would you?'
- I wouldn't mind that much, because it would be such a profoundly silly argument. Additionally, I'm not calling them the wikiclique simply because they disagree with me. The phrase is about some Wikipedians profoundly clique-ish behavior. --Xed 02:02, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
What's up?
editI am recently returned from a vacation, (a real one rather than a "wikivacation)". The "number of edits" script is a little python script that strips the csv file and returns some wikitext. I have tried to upload it, but it got deleted by some busybody who saw script and thought security alert. Pcb21| Pete 08:34, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Star Trek/Babylon 5
editDo you like STAR TREK and BABYLON 5 if YES then HELP ME WRITE-UP ALL STAR TREK EPISODES AND BABYLON 5 THANK YOU KIND SIR, EDGE.
- Great, I'll keep that in mind. Sorry about the caps & such splattered on your talk page; I was in a manic mood at the time. I actually have an important question about image usage & copyrights. Perhaps you can provide some guidance in this respect? My question is posted on the help desk. EDGE 03:06, Sep 25, 2004 (UTC)

Contribs graph script
editHey, I've gone ahead and put the script up on the wiki: User:VeryVerily/Contributions graph. I hope it's decipherable! Also, I wanted to thank you for your support on my admin nomination, hopeless though it was. VV 06:50, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks for the script, of course I have to either install Linux (which I have, but am too lazy to install) or find gnuplot for windows. No problem about the admin nomination, I think you deserve to be an admin. BTW, do I have to just go to 'my contributions' and just go to File->Save as? — Ilγαηερ (Tαlκ) 15:14, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Gmail Invites

Hi, Ilyanep
editTwo things: 1) Check WikiProject Holidays, I added the template to some more articles. 2) I'm up for adminship [1] and I'd be honored. Neutrality (talk) 01:45, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)

Anon Question
editHi there, I'm being blamed for doing all of this stuff that I did not do. I'm just checking this out. I don't want to register or disclose my AOL e-mail address just to get more spam!
User page unprotection
editHi, I unprotected your user page based on a request by UninvitedCompany, as protection is generally considered un-wiki and should be reserved for situations in which it is seriously needed. I decided to unprotect because the history shows that your page has never been vandalized. I think any isolated instances can be reverted without serious harm; if vandalism does become a serious problem for you in the future, perhaps we could reconsider the question. --Michael Snow 22:19, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Sorry
editI AM REALLY SORRY. i have no freaking idea how i managed to blank your welcome message, but i think i managed to get it back to what it was. you should probably check it. I was just finding out how it worked on my talk page (after seeing you advertise it on the welcome new users page) and when i went to deleate it on my talk page, i somehow deleated yours by mistake. RFC pages on VfD
editShould RFC pages be placed on VfD to be deleted? I'm considering removing Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Slrubenstein, Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Jwrosenzweig and Wikipedia:Requests for comment/John Kenney from WP:VFD. Each of them was listed by CheeseDreams. Your comments on whether I should do this would be appreciated. - Ta bu shi da yu 03:46, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Hi, hope you don't mind, but I've shifted your comments to the admin noticeboard. - Ta bu shi da yu 22:52, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Article Licensing
editHi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
