Hi. Just letting you know I reverted your edit here. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, "an" is only used before vowel sounds, including in writing, and the c in "common" is not silent. Hope you're OK with this, but if not I will of course defer to your judgment. I'm aware that citing authoritative sources like the OED could count as supporting my position with "other stuff" which isn't going to work. just naggin' 'bout -"an" is only used before vowel sounds- 'cuz last 29 times I visited & as a (no "an") proper maniac raced 'round in the North Sea Isles on antique Beemers&Ducatis 'twas in Yorkshire and thereabouts they DO use it e.g. before 'house' (with an (H)ole in 'troof)
I do, however, agree with "Admins always know best." since that's what I've experienced as well. Knowledge doesn't count; as opposed to 'democracy' defined by dictatorship of the majority (a.k.a. the mob)
next week (if I do wake up) I shall investigate LePetitPrince for I am faerie certain that the french Government has legally violated the Prince-iple by printing a 50-Franc note (and it's a beaut) without the permission of Antoine de SaintExupéry
Wow, that's an awful lot of snark for complaining about a revert made in 2020 of a sock, even if it did restore a grammatical error.--Bbb23 (talk) 02:10, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) If an IP came to my talk page to complain about a two-year-old DENY revert, I'd probably unload the snark too, especially if I was feeling cranky, which is a lot when I'm Wikipedia. (And I'd start trolling through some edit histories too!) BilCat (talk) 04:05, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
