Then, User:Airforceguy read the discussion about Nathan's sig, and I guess he got mad, and after school, he made the personal attack. A lot of people are easily discouraged when going through an RfA, even sometimes when they're successful. I can certainly sympathize with them because many unsuccessful candidates probably feel like they've been rejected by the community. You have a much better attitude, though. Need to pick at your vast Wiki-wisdom

What does one do about User:JaY (uppercase Y )who shows up in my VandalProof window as an admin but only has 3 total edits.(the latest being apparent vandalism to the Fidel Castro article. There is a User:Jay (small y ) who is a legit admin. How could both show up in VandalProof with the same admin tag? This issue has been fully discussed on the notice board. The block itself lasted all of 20 minutes and is over and done with. Neither side is going to apologize because neither believes they are wrong. At some point we must simply agree to disagree and move on. That is part of being in a community, accepting that you don't always get your way. I believe therefore, that this RFC is excessive. What is to be gained by prolonging this issue? The ironic thing is that the last conversation we had on my talk page reflects the same basic issues (blocking for disruption). Dead Dog yesterday we had to put down the best dog ever. LILLY!! she was the best! she had 5 big brown spots all over her white coat. she was the fastest dog ever. Hmm. Well, as far as adminship itself, there is nothing more I need to learn. People change very little after initial exposure to the community. The only thing that changes is civility, and even that doesn't change much in some people. I will never become a better candidate for adminship, that much is for sure. As for the application itself, as I was telling Actown, I will never ask the community for sysop powers. I would like to think that if the community really trusts me with power, they will submit a request for adminship for me without my asking. If they don't want me to be an admin, they simply will not nominate me. For now, I will wait for Cyde to give me some feedback on my signature; I'd like to get that out of the way before I turn to the RfA. CorbinSimpson 05:08, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Whenever I am about to revert a vandal on a userpage, you beat me to it! You just did it on Skriet's userpage. I was about to revert it, and you already did it. And, you always get awards for reverting vandalism on peoples' userpages, and I don't get any. My only award was some random award.

Re: Redirects

I'd advise against redirecting to your own user page from that of another's account (even if it appears to be inactive) and just sticking to your signature. Just wondering, has anyone actually confused you with User:Mopper yet? You could request to usurp an existing account with no edits, but currently, there's no specific policy for this. VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive.
