AfD nomination of Philly Improv Theater (PHIT)

edit

I have nominated Philly Improv Theater (PHIT), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Philly Improv Theater (PHIT). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. An article you created is about to be deleted: Tools which can help you

edit

The article you created, Philly_Improv_Theater_(PHIT) is about to be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster your respond, the better chance the article you created can be saved. This is because deletion debates only stay open for a few days, and the first comments are usually the most important.

There are several tools and other editors who can help you keep the page from being deleted forever:

  1. You can list the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. If you need help listing your page, add a comment on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain to you all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted, here: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond on the deletion page.
  3. When try to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list of your own acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
Acronyms in deletion debates are sometimes incorrectly used, or ignore rules or exceptions.
  4. You can merge the article into a larger article.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 18:14, 24 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

PHIT Article

edit

Hey, it seems like you are the one who mainly created the Philly Improv Theater (PHIT) page! So, I am working on fixing up as many of the improv group/troupe pages that I can to bring them up to wikipedia standards, as well as making the List of improvisational theatre companies usable. Anyway, your article got put up for deletion recently (as you can see from these big banners everywhere). I was wondering if you'd like me to help you bring the PHIT article up to standards? Gimme a shout on my talk page! SMSpivey (talk) 07:06, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

your help would be greatly appreciated!

edit

Hi ! I am new to wiki so i hope I'm typing this in the right spot! I'm reaching out to other users for help. As I understand it, I need to track down an established wiki editor to help me rid the first article i've created ("Stone and Stone")of the ugly box that was posted on top "This article has multiple issues....".

I know exactly how these complaints came about. In my ignorance on how wiki works, I gave myself the same nickname as the subject I was writing on and then a whole drama ensued, as it was assumed that I was my subject and that I was writing an autobiography! In truth, I am a huge comedy fan and biographer and was dipping my toes for the first time in wikipedia waters!

Any help our solutions you could provide me when you get the chance would be greatly appreciated! This poor little article certainly doesn't deserve such an ugly heading box because of my wiki-ignorance! Thank you in advance for your time! Comedybiographer (talk) 10:30, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
