Cardinality of compact Hausdorff spaces

edit

Hi Oneequalsequalsone,

I wonder if you might have meant separable compact Hausdorff spaces without isolated points? It might be true in that case. I have a vague memory that separable compact Hausdorff spaces are automatically Polish, and it is certainly true that every nonempty Polish space without isolated points has the cardinality of the continuum. If you're interested in finding out more you might ask a question at WP:RD/Math. -Trovatore (talk) 20:49, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Trovatore, thanks for reaching out.
I'm a complete novice in topology so I'm afraid I can't follow this. I was just interested to find out if the contribution was reverted because of its falseness or because of other reasons Oneequalsequalsone (talk) 21:16, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, OK, but you must have had some reason for the original edit. What made you think it was true? --Trovatore (talk) 23:04, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Oh, now I see it wasn't you, but an IP contributor. Never mind.... --Trovatore (talk) 23:12, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your edits to the Mearsheimer article and RUSUKR restrictions

edit

Hi. I noticed you recently made edits to John Mearsheimer. I am not here to argue with the substance of your edits, just to point out that, while in principle you can edit the article, the specific part of the article you edited falls under the umbrella of WP:RUSUKR. Users that do not yet enjoy extended confirmed status are not permitted to edit in and around the topic of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, broadly construed (this includes editing parts of other articles if and when they refer to this conflict). I do not believe you were acting in bad faith (or that you were aware of the restriction at all!), so there is nothing for you to worry about - just be mindful of this until you become extended confirmed. Cheers. Ostalgia (talk) 08:05, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I was not aware of this Oneequalsequalsone (talk) 09:07, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Oliver Eagleton

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Oliver Eagleton requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Oliver Eagleton moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Oliver Eagleton, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi @Bbb23,
Thanks for letting me know. I have cited everything in the article. Obviously it needs more work to extend its content but it's a start? What about WP:BOLD? What is the use of keeping it in draft instead of putting it out there so people can add to it? Oneequalsequalsone (talk · contribs) 00:19, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi,
This is due to the article, which is about a living person, not having enough evidence that this person is significant. Please see the information outlined here for more information about this. MrBauer24 (talk) 00:21, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) It's not ready for article space. Based on the content, it's not clear that the subject is notable. I strongly suggest you use WP:AFC so more experienced users can review it and give you feedback about what's needed. If you insist on moving it back to article space, you run the risk that it will be outright deleted (it had been tagged as WP:A7).--Bbb23 (talk) 00:22, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay fine, I mean that this person authored The Starmer Project and writes for the New Left Review along with his columns makes him quite notable in my eyes but I'll go through the information mentioned Oneequalsequalsone (talk · contribs) 00:25, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
who is that user you linked? MrBauer24 (talk) 00:28, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I dont understand. What do you mean by user? Oneequalsequalsone (talk · contribs) 00:29, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
