Thanks for uploading Image:Logopolyteleias9if.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:Def pic.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Def pic.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Notability of Ormi Patras

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ormi Patras, by TenPoundHammer, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ormi Patras seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Ormi Patras, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Ormi Patras itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 02:06, 26 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Downwards and his anonymous IPs

edit

Hey man. have you had any problems with this guy? He uses an account called Downwards and also two anonymous IPs. He reverts over and over, he blanks pages, he deletes articles, he removes tons of material in articles. He reverts edits people make since his reverting the previous time. he leaves insulting and rude messages in his edit summaries. I mean he is absolutely ruining so many articles it is hard to comprehend how he gets away with it.

If you report it to mods they do nothing at all. I and several other people have reported this and they just let it go on. Do you know any way of dealing with this guy?

Proposed deletion of EA Patras

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article EA Patras, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No notability - no references

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 77.49.233.147 (talk) 14:29, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I just think that helped to lead is more appropriate because you had Spanoulis, Batiste, Siska, Saras all in big roles also, and Spanoulis was the FF MVP of one of those. About Diamantidis' weight. Personally, he looks about 105 kilos to me.173.216.228.181 (talk) 19:19, 5 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Massimo Masini

The article Massimo Masini has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

Diamantidis article

edit

Hey man, if you asked Panathinaikos fans if he is better than Michael Jordan, 99% I believe would say yes. But if you asked non Panathinaikos fans if he was the best Greek player, probably 80% at least would say no. It would be controversial I think to have in his article a bold outright claim that he is considered the most dominant Euroleague player. Simply because he is not, and in fact, I think most people would, from just the last 15 years, take guys like Bodoriga, Spanoulis, Navarro, and Jasikevicius over him. With Panathinaikos fan base he would be voted over Jordan, but that's just one fan base. It would be fair to say something like, "Diamantidis is considered to be one of the best Greek players ever", or something to that effect. Saying he is the most dominant player in Euroleague, is going too far. And I would also say that no player should have something like that in their article. I can't think of a single Euroleague player that should have that written in their article, or that any are worthy or deserving of it. There is no Jordan or Wilt Chamberlain, or whatever of Euroleague, and Diamantidis, in particular, was a passer and not even much of a scorer, so it just is not something we should put in his article. Example, Navarro is a great scorer, and even he should not have it in his article. As for Frank Lawlor, it's his opinion, but for example, many coaches and legend players have said Spanoulis is the best Euroleague player ever. So shall we put that in his article? I don't think we should put it in his article. Because these things are not facts, they are opinions, and they are probably not even close to majority opinions either. So its not encyclopedic to say stuff like that. And I can't think of a single Euroleague player that would be considered as such by a majority. And if we just take basic truth as evidence...3 Euroleague championships, 2 final four MVPs, 1 league MVP, while playing in a team that in those years always had a top 3 budget in Europe, and maybe the best coach in Europe - it is hardly remotely close to being "dominant". I remember Diamantidis being dominant in 2010-11 season, and that was it. He was never dominant in any other season. I am fine if the article says "one of the best Euroleague players since 2000", or something to that effect, because I think that is fact, and widely agreed upon and understood. But implication that he is simply the greatest Euroleague player of the 21st century is way off base for me.Bluesangrel (talk) 00:26, 25 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Invite to the African Destubathon

edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:08, 7 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Euroleague Basketball Manager

The article Euroleague Basketball Manager has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG. Topic lacks significant coverage from reliable secondary sources.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
