William Douglas, 1st Earl of March moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to William Douglas, 1st Earl of March. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:59, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Copyedit Tag

edit

Hi sadustu Tau, I recently edited an article named Babu Singh Kushwaha. Just wanted to know what are the changes I should make since you added a copyedit tag.

Thankyou. Diksha1805 (talk) 15:49, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

All it needs is a few minor edits, such as missing punctuation, some words that shouldn't be capitalised, and a few missing words. There aren't too many, but they are there. A few spaces are also missing. Sadustu Tau (talk) 16:28, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay I’ll make those changes.
Thankyou for your help. Diksha1805 (talk) 13:08, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
No worries. If you need me to help out I can as well. Sadustu Tau (talk) 18:44, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hey, I edited the article again, please check it. I also added some information I found on google. Can you also tell me how to protect an article on wikipedia.
Thankyou. Diksha1805 (talk) 18:31, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'll have a look when I next wake up. Also unless the page is being vandalised and disrupted it doesn't need protecting. Administrators can protect pages but they most likely won't do it since there's been no disruption in over a month. Procyon117 (talk) 18:37, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the late response (also seems like someone beat me to some of it and removed the copyedit tag), but I finally got around to copyediting and fixing some stuff that was missed. Procyon117 (talk) 19:44, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sorry

edit

I did not intend to publish that edit. I am sorry for causing you extra work. Thank you for fixing it Cannolorosa (talk) 17:06, 19 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

No worries. I was just confused because I was just on that article a few minutes ago. I made sure to double check though before reverting. Sadustu Tau (talk) 17:07, 19 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hur-e Pasefid

edit

Hello, I am editing from Kerman, and Hajazi was incorporated in the city of Hur-e Pasefid, which is in our province in my country, and I am aware of it, and reliable sources also confirm my claim. However, your lack of cooperation will not change the main issue. did Arman.Farsi57 (talk) 19:26, 19 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

No, it's not my "lack of cooperation", it's you removing sourced information and introducing a redirect for some reason. The article also says that Hajazi was incorporated into Hur-e Pasefid anyway. Moreover, the article refers to it as being a former village and that it is in past tense. I do not see what the problem is. Sadustu Tau (talk) 19:32, 19 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

Checking for older MP designations before creating new named-MP redirects

edit

FYI 20992 Marypearse (and a few others that I'm going through now) have older designations, in this case (20992) 1985 RV2, which should have been moved to 20992 Marypearse, instead of creating a new #R. The newest designation's page/#R is what holds all the relevant categories, and all older designations should use {{NASTRO comment|do-not-cat=yes}}, and (usually) {{R avoided double redirect}}, for example (20992) 1985 RV2 now.

I am, of course, guilty of this as well...!   ~ Tom.Reding (talkdgaf)  16:26, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Noted. Procyon117 (talk) 17:16, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
(Sorry for late reply) So just to confirm, for example, 5396 Kathleenhowell (got assigned a name from (5396) 1988 SH1), I move the page from the old name to the new name, and then add the appropriate redirect templates to the old name? Not sure if I did it correctly so just messaging to confirm. Procyon117 (talk) 06:59, 8 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes Improvement Time!

edit

Hello there! I am sending this alert to all members of the WikiProject Weather and editors who have recently edited in the realm of tornadoes.

There is a large and important discussion ongoing, with the goal to completely overhaul and improve the List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes. The previous improvement attempt back in 2022/2023 gained almost no participation. This alert is being sent out so these discussions hopefully gain a reasonably-sized participation, so the F5/EF5 tornado article, one of the most viewed weather-related articles on Wikipedia, can be improved for all readers!

If you wish to participate, please visit: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Weather/Possible F5/EF5/IF5 tornadoes. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 16:12, 17 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Football South Coast, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page South Coast United. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hey whats wrong with you?

edit

Why did you redirect book to authour????? I added some info about the book Atomic Habits. Whats the point of redicting a book to author page? People comes to find info about a book not author. Besides it is a notable best-seller book, it deserves its own article. Dark1618 (talk) 15:53, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Notable how? What criteria in WP:BKCRIT does this book meet? Most things I can find are store links to buy it and maybe a couple of reviews.
Also I would advise against asking what is wrong with people. That attitude is not going to get you anywhere here. Procyon117 (talk) 15:57, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
This is a best-seller book with over 20 million copies sold. Dark1618 (talk) 16:03, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
That alone is not notable enough to warrant its own article. If you wish you can expand the section on Atomic Habits in the article about James Clear, but that still doesn't meet any of the criteria mentioned in the link. Procyon117 (talk) 16:12, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
just search "best self-help book" you will find this book at the top result. Besides this is one of few good books on Habit. Dark1618 (talk) 16:10, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Vishnu Teja

edit

Hey, I saw your closure at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vishnu Teja, where there was no consensus for draftification. According to WP:DRAFTNO point 2, articles currently in AfD should not be draftified. However, without knowing this, you went ahead and closed the AfD. GrabUp - Talk 16:56, 21 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ahhh I assumed it was okay since the article creator already draftified it. I assume I will have to revert. Procyon117 (talk) 16:59, 21 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
