Toronto Film Critics Association Awards 2020 moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Toronto Film Critics Association Awards 2020, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia).   Hello, I'm Skingo12. I noticed that in this edit to Seattle Film Critics Society, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Skingo12 (talk) 09:55, 1 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi SamuelLovesFilms, in response to the message at my talk page yes it is completely ok to merge and split. However it is really important to let other editors know what you are doing with the edit description. Also for inexperienced editors it is sometimes best to start a discussion on the talk page, however this is not always necessary. Skingo12 (talk) 10:21, 1 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 48th Annie Awards, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Primal. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:23, 4 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Cal Brunker.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Cal Brunker.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 13:59, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Discussion for CAA

edit

Thanks for helping me out about Crunchyroll Anime Awards after I found something in your revision that you made "Most wins", which all of the lists are corrected before it was removed by someone. So, I decided to added awards and nominations for Crunchyroll, including yours that I copied into the main page back. Also, can you add more than five nominations? (Not less than five like four or two.) Fortunewriter (talk) 06:47, 31 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:BokunoHīrōAkademiakeyvisual.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:BokunoHīrōAkademiakeyvisual.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:30, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from My Hero Academia into List of My Hero Academia episodes. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:47, 11 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I saw that you recently removed a bunch of archive links from refs at Cartoon Saloon, I'm guessing because the links were not dead. So, I want to inform you that preemptive archiving is actually encouraged to prevent future dead links (see WP:DEADREF), which is why I would like to ask you to stop removing archive links in the future, whether the original link is dead or not. Thank you! Felida97 (talk) 02:37, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

As an editor, I apologize for what I did. I couldn't realize about the removal links in the first place. I will keep that in mind next time, so there wouldn't have any issues or concerns again. SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 11:30, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

My Hero Academia Season 6

edit

It seems my original understanding of your edit was incorrect. You added a parts section simply because the season have 2 cours? Yeah, that's definitely NOT how we do things here. For it to be a part, it has to be officially stated as such by official sources, and even at that usually its because it's considered a "split-cour", which this season is not as it should be airing for 6 consecutive months from October to March. Thank you for reading. GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 03:22, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Alright. Thanks for that reminder! I'll take that from now. SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 03:51, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
@SamuelLovesFilms: No problems, at first I thought you believed this was a split-cour season hence the original revision statement. But when it comes to anime series, listing every season that has more than one consecutive seasonal cour as a part isn't really something we do unless the official sources of the anime series consider it a part themselves, like Attack on Titan has done with Seasons 3 & 4.--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 04:18, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Tensei Iida

edit

Hello SamuelLovesFilms. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Tensei Iida, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Technically speaking, following MOS:JAPAN, the romanization of "飯田" (hiragana:いいだ) as Iida is correct. If the English language sources cite Ida instead of Iida, then that would be fine. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 10:24, 19 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the lack of citation. I think you add a code from the file image as follows: ffd|log=2023 September 14|help=off, with both side ends have a bracket ({{ }}) symbol. Then maybe go to the files for discussion page and add something to say about the image in the "Recent nominations" section under the current date. If my instructions didn't work out, then ask someone else. Thank you. SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 12:43, 14 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Regarding MOS:ORDINAL

edit

Hi. I've noticed that in several articles you have changed the ordinals greater than nine from numerals to words. It's not that it bothers me in particular, but MOS:ORDINAL states: "generally, for single-digit ordinals write first through ninth, not 1st through 9th." The MOS doesn't prohibit the use of numerals for figures of two digits or more (i.e. starting at 10). As I say, I don't think your corrections are wrong, but I wanted to clarify that leaving them expressed in numerals is not incorrect either. Xexerss (talk) 05:15, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

As I said, I have seen the notable articles did the same thing about the two digit numerals, which is why I wanted to change it to make the text information precisely. Is that what many articles didn't require that type of guideline in the first place? SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 05:53, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I see. Perhaps it's simply a matter of habit that two-digit ordinals are expressed in words in several other articles instead of numerals. I just wanted to point out that, while it may not be the "usual" thing to do, the MOS doesn't even imply that the other way is incorrect. Not really the big deal anyway, and I'm fine with either option, I just wanted you to take it into consideration for the next time. Cheers. Xexerss (talk) 06:29, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks for making me understand. Cheers. SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 06:41, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Source code capitalisations

edit

Hi! I noticed you often capitalise parameters like "{{infobox" to "{{Infobox","{{start date" to "{{Start date", etc. Parameters like "| released =" don't work if capitalised as "| Released =". I think it's purely a stylistic choice from the editor's end, but since the ones I mentioned earlier work both ways, wouldn't it be better to keep them in lowercase for consistency? Lunar-akauntotalk 08:42, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Maybe just for some of the articles that had a lowercase for any situation whether it's possible or not. But for me, I am responsible for these parameters in which most articles did the exact thing as long as everything needs to be applied for some reason in different ways. SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 10:50, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand. Can you rephrase your answer? Lunar-akauntotalk 13:07, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Rephrase: Some of the parameters for the articles you mentioned should have a lowercase if possible, but most of them always had to be an uppercase which is why I'm responsible to any of these edits, for example, in Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 (soundtrack). SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 13:21, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
What I'm saying is that those parameters work perfectly fine even without capitalisation, and I see no guide explicitly stating what to capitalise. Honestly, it shouldn't matter since it doesn't obscure the way the information is displayed, and most importantly, achieving this consistency, whether small or capitalised, throughout Wikipedia is not virtually possible. Going forward, do I capitalise them or not when creating new entries? so as to save you from having to fix them. Lunar-akauntotalk 16:41, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

My Hero Academia season 7

edit

Could you explain how you discovered the weekly episode update information you did that usually launches immediately after an episode finishes broadcasting hours before its official launch? Thank you. GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 09:08, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I just found that in the tweet posts on maPPle's Twitter account, you can check out the recent one that I did earlier: https://twitter.com/MappleYellovv/status/1806674056005202125 SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 09:59, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Additional note: Please don't update the episode count until after said episode actually finishes airing in the season or animanga infoboxes, not 2-3 hours beforehand.--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 09:10, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Well if that's what you realized what I'm doing previously, I think that's fine if we would stick to that process instead. Sorry for my cause in the past days now, I'll make sure that I'm taking note next time afterwards. Problem solved, huh? SamuelLovesFilms (talk) 10:05, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Help with Lost Canvas

I managed to expand the creation and reception sections from Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas after gathering some interviews in French and Spanish but I think they need some revisions from an editor more skilled at English than me. Thanks for the help with the Hunter x Hunter characters. I couldn't find any image with Killua's normal look by Togashi wearing his casual and normal clothes so if you find a similar image more fitting for the infobox feel free to replace it. I had the same problem with Gon as he originally had a digitall colored image from the first chapter while Kurapika's was originally taken from a volume cover and then replaced with the more recognizable featured now.
