I have been editing from an IP address for about a month. I just created an account, and I was wondering if there is anyway to join my IP account and this one. I don't really want my contributions in two separate places.

StarshipSLS (talk) 00:17, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

I'm guessing you found out the answer is "no". You can certainly make a note on your user page pointing to your contributions under the IP address for that particular date range (in case that IP address later gets re-assigned to someone else). — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 01:22, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

User:jmchnh, I already got the answer from IRC Help.Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 15:09, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

There is a discussion about me at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents - Wikipedia. Can someone please look at it and tell me what they think will be the result? Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 22:37, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

I'm no fortune teller, but it looks like you'll probably be asked to refrain from participating in "meta" activities (such as replying to help requests or closing discussions) until your understanding of how Wikipedia operates sufficiently improves. Have you considered participating in the Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user program (as an adoptee of course)? 78.28.55.108 (talk) 09:18, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Fixed your talk page archiving

Hi! I took the liberty of fixing the auto-archiving settings at the top of this page. --rchard2scout (talk) 07:00, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

@Rchard2scout: What was wrong with it?Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 15:03, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
(Random IP, not rchard2scout) You had copied and pasted it from someone else's user page without changing the settings, so it was starting at "archive 28" and was storing old threads in someone else's talk archive, have a look at this diff [1] to see the fixes they made. 192.76.8.91 (talk) 15:59, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
It wouldn't have actually archived anything to the wrong archive, because the bot checks if the archive parameter is set to a subpage of the page it's trying to archive. I fixed it because I'm working on Category:Pages where archive parameter is not a subpage. --rchard2scout (talk) 17:13, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
@Rchard2scout Thank you so much! Yes, I did copy and paste it from another person's talk page to make it easier to set up archiving. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 18:09, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

From my understanding of adopting a user, it means that I help you to understand all of the code, formatting of creating articles, answer any concerns/questions that you may have about Wikipedia. So yeah! Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer them as soon as I can — as well as clearly! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:09, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi StarshipSLS, welcome to the Adopt-a-User Program, I will be your mentor within the next couple of weeks and will try my best to introduce you into Wikipedia. What you can expect is that I will answer any question you have and that I will monitor closely any of your contributions (and your talk page). If you have questions contact me on my talk page or via Email - what I do expect is that you read carefully a bunch of Policies and Tutorials before continuing editing the way you did before. I will leave you a whole bunch of information below which you definitely need to read and understand. Welcome! CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:44, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

I've closed the AN/I with the understanding that you will adhere to your agreement to accept mentorship from a couple of the more experienced editors. I hope this works out well for you, and I welcome you to the project. Please do use caution in your editing - if in doubt, then don't. Ask first if you're not sure about something. Best, and happy editing. — Ched (talk) 17:05, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:45, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

@CommanderWaterford I don't need to sign with five tildes because I have a special beta feature that does not require that. In this post I am not signing with five tildes! Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 16:47, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS Sure, I do not either. Important is reading all the links above ... and understand them. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:48, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford:I don't really have time to read every word, but I've looked through them today and in the past. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 16:52, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS Well, you should take your time - how long it may take - to read them entirely - if you do not follow them you will run into trouble sooner or later. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:56, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
I agree. You should read them carefully and understand them correctly. Also, I see that you're not ping the correct way. The correct way is to use Username. So, if you were to ping me, you would write in JackReynoldsADogOwner. Hope this helps! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 18:23, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: @CommanderWaterford: Unfortunately, I only have limited time. But, I will read them over time. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 18:42, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

If you expect me to approve the draft I have to disappoint you, I do not approve Drafts of my Adoptees in general (have a look at Wikipedia:Advocacy) but I will have a look at it later this day. CommanderWaterford (talk) 15:10, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi, obviously you are spending a lot of time on Userboxes and Wikiprojects but unfortunately not so much on our content policies - I have moved the totally unreferenced Article which you published directly to mainspace to Draft:Space articles, there you can work on it until it is ready for submitting via Wikipedia:Articles for creation. I really suggest slowing down somewhat and take more time in studying in the info links Jack and I gave you. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:53, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

@CommanderWaterford: It is a collection of articles, not an article itself. And I did read most of what you gave me. StarshipSLS (talk) 18:13, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS Another thing you have to learn that we do not move discussions from one talk page to another and vice versa. Usually the discussion will be continued where it has started. And please stop pinging me every few minutes for the same reason. This is further not a collection of articles (Wikiproject are formally not Mainspace Articles) and also List Articles do need to be referenced and notable. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:30, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
Ok! StarshipSLS (talk) 18:45, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
I again would advise you to ask first before doing something you've never done before (e.g. making a list article in main space, this time). You've got some kind adopt-a-users who would be happy to answer such a question :) Leijurv (talk) 18:48, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

SLS Fan Userbox

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Thanks for finding a new photo for the NASA SLS userbox. There are few tricks with getting images to work. First off, don't use "thumb" You want to just have the file name and then after that you can specify a max dimension XXpx for width or x##px for height. Using the DIV tags and style set the maximum sizes for the box in which the photo will sit and overflow allows the image to exceed that space without it causing issues (basically cropping the image to 45px × 45px).

<div style="width: 45px ; height: 45px; position: relative; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; overflow: hidden"}}</div>

So using "|x68px" after the image makes it wide enough and tall enough to fill the space without trouble.

Keep experimenting with them! Carter (talk) 18:59, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

@Tcr25: Thanks for your help! Also, I need help with the Super Simple Userbox Maker. How do you put images in userboxes you make there? StarshipSLS (talk) 20:35, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
StarshipSLS Yeah, that's non-intuitive because it doesn't connect to Wikipedia for the preview. Basically, you just put the file name in in brackets and it will show you words instead of the picture. When you create the userbox page on Wikipedia and paste in the code from Super-Simple Userbox Maker you can then see the picture and do any necessary tweaking. So for the above userbox, you could put the whole line in to SSUM (<div>...</div>) or you could put just , or you could just leave the id field empty and then fill it in when you create the page on Wikipedia. Feel free to ask if you run into any other stumbling blocks. Carter (talk) 21:24, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
@Tcr25: Yes, I'll let you know if I need help. Who created the maker? StarshipSLS (talk) 21:26, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

Questions as of May 1, 2021:

  • What is the specific order to categorized categories?
  • If you are personally being attacked by a user of Wikipedia, what should you do and why?
  • If you are to write about somebody that is close to you, what is that called and should you make it?
  • When you see/witness a user doing disruptive editing, what should you do first?
  • What does 3RR mean and why is it important?

@JackReynoldsADogOwner Absolutely. Good work. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:23, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: Yay! You can also ask any questions if you want to! I'll be adding more questions whenever I feel like StarshipSLS is ready to answer them. The above are just some that necessary to ask. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 18:38, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner I will for sure but first of all I would be keen to see the answers. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:46, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner @CommanderWaterford:
3RR is the three revert rule. It means you cannot revert three edits in a single article within 24 hours. It is important so a user doesn't disrupt the article. Exception: self-reverting

@StarshipSLS A) Which noticeboard, we have several dozens. B) Which is the correct policy, where can I read about what to do in case of personal attacks? CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:16, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

This is a little bit disappointing since it is described extensive in the info I gave you yesterday. And you are wrong, it could be okay (in some cases). It is called Conflict of Interest Editing. CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:16, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: I am sorry, but I wasn't able to read everything. I have a personal life too, and I only have so much time here. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 13:21, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

If you see someone doing disruptive editing, revert the edit and let the user know. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 19:06, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Alrighty. This has given information that we needed so far. First of all, Eponymous categories should come first after the article and it is at the bottom on the page with Cateogory:.... Conflict of Interest is where you have a personal connection to the topic you are writing about. That is not allowed. Please read over WP:COI to learn more about Conflict of Interest whenever you have time. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 21:51, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
I read through parts of it. I know what it is, I just didn't remember the name. I didn't know what kind of category you meant. Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 13:20, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner, @CommanderWaterford: Conflict: @CommanderWaterford says that conflict of interest is allowed sometimes but @JackReynoldsADogOwner says that it is not aloud. Also, I made a sandbox! Starship SLS (formerly IP 64.121.103.144) (talk) 20:15, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS First of all no need to ping me twice in one sentence, I do see any of your contributions. If @JackReynoldsADogOwner says that COI is not allowed then he is wrong. COI editing is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia but it is - if you respect several conditions - allowed. Editors with a COI, including paid editors, are expected to disclose it whenever they seek to change an affected article's content. Anyone editing for pay must disclose who is paying them, who the client is, and any other relevant affiliation; this is a requirement of the Wikimedia Foundation. COI editors should not edit affected articles directly, but should propose changes on article talk pages instead. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:25, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: Thank you for explaining it to him. Sorry for the inconvenice. And to StarshipSLS, I do have another question, I'll still working on how to present it. Thanks again to both! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:07, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

I notice that you just renamed a number of articles to "SpaceX Private Astronaut [name]". This appears to be contrary to our article naming policy found at WP:COMMONNAME. I suggest reverting these changes and follow the correct procedure for moving articles. Woodroar (talk) 00:45, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

@StarshipSLS Indeed! I will revert all of these changes. Next time I will report you for this edits again at ANI, obviously you did not learn that much from last time unfortunately. @JackReynoldsADogOwner fyi. CommanderWaterford (talk) 07:43, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: Thank you for notifying me about this! And to StarshipSLS, please make sure to go over what you're going to be doing (such as renaming articles, moving them, reverting edits, and such) with us — CommanderWaterford and I — so you don't get into trouble. @JackReynoldsADogOwner: Can you teach me about moving pages so I don't make another mistake? StarshipSLS (talk) 14:17, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
Of course! TO begin with, you must be autoconfirmed user and up to move pages. As I can see, you are already autoconfirmed. Before moving any pages, you must stop and think about why you are going to move the page. Below are the main reasons why you shoud move pages:
  • The title does not follow Wikipedia's naming conventions, such as that it is not the common name of the subject or it is overprecise.
  • The subject of the article has changed its name and the new name has come into majority use.
  • The title has been misspelled, does not contain standard capitalization or punctuation, or is misleading or inaccurate.
  • It needs to be disambiguated in some way to avoid confusion with an existing, similarly named topic, or it exists at a disambiguated name but should not because it is the primary topic.
  • It is an article at a descriptive name and the scope of the article has been reduced, extended or otherwise changed.
  • It is an article that has been created as a subpage of a Wikipedian's user or user talk space for development purposes and it is ready to be posted to the mainspace or to draft space.
  • It is a draft article that has been created or edited in draft space for development purposes and it is ready to be posted to the mainspace.
If the article fits one or more the list above, then you may move the page, stating a reason. After you've done so, you must notify the user who created the article. You must include the ... moved to draftspace in the subject and in the body of the main message, you must include 1) reasoning(s), 2) notice that you moved the page to draftspace, and 3) what they can do if they feel that the article meets with the Wikipedia's general notability guideline. To begin notify the user, first you have to go yo the user's talk page. Then, click on New section at the top right corner of the screen. I have attached below the general layout of how to notify a user that their page has been moved to draftspace:

Subject/Headline:
Example moved to draftspace
Body/Main Message:
An article you recently created, <!-- Article name, include "Draft:" -->Example, is not suitable as written to remain published. <!-- Reasoning here: -->It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. <small>(?)</small> Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "<code>Draft:</code>" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. <!-- Action -->When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ~~~~

I hope this helps. If you are unsure if you should or should not move a page, you can also reach out to me and CommanderWaterford and/or you can also request a move of the page by inserting at the top of the page and a user with the page mover ability will review over you're request and they will either accept the request and move the page or deny it. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:41, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: Thanks so much! That is so helpful. What about when I move a page that was created years ago? StarshipSLS (talk) 15:01, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
For articles that have been created years ago, I would suggest adding a section to the talk page of that article suggesting the idea of moving the page. If nobody responds back for a couple of days, you should ask CommanderWaterford or I about the situation. Do not do it immediately. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:08, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
I noticed that you closed a discussion above. If you want, you can also close discussion easily. I personally like the feature. You can find the description and how to install it here. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:16, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: I don't understand how to use it to close a discussion. StarshipSLS (talk) 15:26, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS Let me be frankly - I suggest gathering by far more experience before starting to move pages around here. Further I can't help getting the impression that we are dealing here with someone who has a deep COI for SpaceX related topics. @JackReynoldsADogOwner CommanderWaterford (talk) 15:27, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: I do not work for SpaceX, I just really like the company. StarshipSLS (talk) 15:29, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
I am interested in all space exploration. StarshipSLS (talk) 15:30, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
Well time will tell, for now I suggest not moving any page around before understanding how Wikipedia works. CommanderWaterford (talk) 15:31, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: I do not work for SpaceX, but I would like to. And, I will not move another page until I learn how to do it right. StarshipSLS (talk) 15:32, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
I agree with CommanderWaterford by not moving any pages until you now how and understand Wikipedia's guidelines. But, you feel strongly towards a page that it should be moved, reach out to either of us and we'll take it from there. Side note, the DiscussionCloser is not a big deal for now. We have bigger fish to fry. Don't worry about it. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:39, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

I suggested you ask before doing anything new, you agreed, you made a new list article, I made the suggestion again, you agreed again, you renamed a half dozen articles. Now I make the suggestion a third time, but I don't think it's... working. Do you agree? So I won't make it a fourth. Do you see how this looks like your agreements to be more careful are... hollow? I wouldn't be surprised if you end up back at WP:ANI. If you do, the admins will see the same thing I see (and your adopt-a-users see) which is that you've made agreements to follow policies and avoid disruptive editing, and then immediately gone back on those agreements within a few days. Please don't just reply with a "I will try to do better" because you have already said that. That's what I see when I read the section above where your adopt-a-users say similar things to this. It might be best if instead you gave an explanation of what's going on. Just repeating a promise to try harder / do better won't work anymore (in my eyes). Perhaps there is some confusion here that I just don't see? Otherwise an admin might give you a WP:CIR block, which I am starting to think might be a good idea. :( Leijurv (talk) 18:24, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

@Leijurv: I am sorry that I forgot our agreement. I do not have a good memory for such things. StarshipSLS (talk) 18:27, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

I note the discussion you just "closed" on Talk:SpaceX Starship. (diff)

In my view, that discussion did not need to be explicitly closed. Like most Talk page sections: a couple of editors had a chat, it's now over, nothing more need be done, per Wikipedia:Closing discussions.

In general, it seems to me that you are a little overeager to use every tool you learn about on the wiki. My collegial advice to a newer editor: do fewer things, and do them really well! ... before deciding you are an experienced editor and thoroughly know how to do various things, and when it might or might not be appropriate to do various things. For example, how to build consensus with fellow editors, how to determine when different sorts of formal and informal discussions and closings need to be done, and when they don't, assessing when your experience is such that you should move into a new area, or use new and different tools; and when you should not. Cheers. N2e (talk) 21:40, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

@N2e: Ok. Thanks for your great advice! Also, would you be interested in joining WikiProject Rocketry? You have edited rocket articles and we need more members to make the project active. Currently only me and @JackReynoldsADogOwner edit the project. StarshipSLS (talk) 21:44, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
Great question. But that is one of the things I had to learn in Wikipedia editing. None of us have the time to do everything, we always must give something up to do anything we choose to take action on. So I realized that spaceflight was already big enough, and it would require other special editors in Wikipedia to choose to go after improving all the many things that need improved in Rocketry articles. Once I did that, I took myself out of the Rocketry wikiproject. Cheers. N2e (talk) 22:34, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

No, I meant are you mostly online? --XecityZaien (talk) 12:52, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Draft:Super Heavy (booster). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. I asked you a couple of hours ago to stop creating redirects in Draft space and moving drafts every few hours, now you did again. CommanderWaterford (talk) 22:06, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

@CommanderWaterford: I am so sorry. I forgot that. How can I move the draft without creating a redirect? I was told to make this move because there is a rule relating to the subject to name it in a particular way. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 23:22, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS I am sorry but I do not buy this, you seem to be of very short memory, my warning was only a couple of hours before. There is absolute no need to move Drafts around for you as a a creator - the Reviewer in the end confirms (or changes) the Article title anyway. Please show me the diff where you have been asked to move the draft by whom. CommanderWaterford (talk) 07:20, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
Here: Talk:SpaceX Starship: Difference between revisions - Wikipedia StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 11:42, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
@StarshipSLS I do not see any instructions - just a suggestion by an Editor - no one said to move the Draft to a new article title and create redirects. And honestly I would expect if you would have asked your mentors before doing so because those moves exactly brought you into trouble weeks ago. CommanderWaterford (talk) 11:51, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford: They said that there is a rule of how to name it to show that it is a rocket stage. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 11:53, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

  Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Draft:Vega launches, you may be blocked from editing. You are kidding me obviously - hours after 2 asking of not creating redirects for drafts you do not own you are continuining. If you do not stop this I will ask for blocking you indefinitely. CommanderWaterford (talk) 07:30, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

@CommanderWaterford: I was following instructions and I did not realize that it was the same thing I did before. I am really sorry. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 11:40, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Below are more questions that I want you to answer:

  1. If an account was created meaning to vandalism an article or two and you happen to encounter one of them, what are you going to do?
  2. What is wrong with the following paragraph?:
Arnold schwartz is a captain of the U.s. military base. He was highly intelligent and that was agreed among his companions. "Yes, he's the most intellitual militry commander in the whole wide world," said Jen Seen, a fellow companion of his. Born and raised into a rich family, he schwartz wanted to create world where everyone had a say. he began working on foundations that he created himself and was named the number 1 influential beings on earth. With the money from his dad, he spent half of it to charities that helped people with disabilites while the other half was sent to hospitals. Though, there are no status of him to honor his amazing, and continuious, life; there is, however, a change.org poll currently happening right now. You can sign it here. I'm his son and would love to honor his amazing legacy.

Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:43, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

@JackReynoldsADogOwner:
  1. Report it.
  2. It has lots of spelling and grammar mistakes. It has no references. Also, a poll should not be in an article and the author has a conflict of interest and does not write in a neutral way.
StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 17:50, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
  1. You should report it to the User Conduct noticeboard.
StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 17:50, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner:
  1. Also at the anti-vandalism noticeboard.
StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 18:16, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
2. Dad should be father. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 19:57, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
Good job spotting the errors of the paragraph. That's a great first start. There is one more thing I want you to do; but before I tell you what it is, there are few things you should know. The paragraph that I created, I made sure the errors were noticeable and could be spotted within few seconds. But the next time I do a question like that, the paragraph will be somewhat complete, but you will have check on references (see if their reliable or not, primary or secondary, user-generated or not, and such), the sentence structure, word choices and so much more. With this being said, I will not hesitate to create a made-up article that you will have to anaylaze the categories, the external links, headings, templates (?), sentence structure, references, and much more. That is just a heads-ups, and notice that I did insert links to helpful articles that I would recommend you read over, if not already.

With that off the side, I want you to rewrite the paragraph and fix it so it fits with Wikipedia's guideline. Don't worry about looking for references since you would literally find nothing because the character is not real. BUT, I do want you to place [1] and [2] and such on sentences that you find that would need to have a reference. For example, if I was going to write about CommanderWaterford, I would write something like:
Markup Renders as
CommanderWaterford is a current Wikipedia User and editor. He (or she) created the account back in May 6, 2020,[1] and made his (or hers) first edit a few days later. After being on Wikipedia for a long time, he (or she) was promoted to Rollback, New page patrol, and Reviewing pending changes.[2]

I hope this helps! Good job! Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 12:35, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: I do not really have much time this week. But, I hope to do it soon. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:37, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: I was able to do it now. How is this>
Arnold Schwartz is a captain of a U.S. military base.[1] He was highly intelligent and that was agreed among his companions.[2] "Yes, he's the most intellectual military commander in the whole wide world," said Jen Seen, a fellow companion of his.[3]Born and raised into a rich family, he wanted to create a world where everyone had a say.[4] He began working on foundations that he created himself, and was named the Number 1 Influential Being on Earth.[5] With the money from his father, he spent half of it to charities that helped people with disabilities while the other half was sent to hospitals.[6] StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:52, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: I also want to let you know that I only can be on Wikipedia for an hour or two each day total. So do not be surprised if I take a long time to answer questions. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:54, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
I totally get. Also, when I said to "rewrite" the paragraph, I didn't mean for you to copy-and-paste it. I wanted you to rewrite it, in your own word. This quiz does have a reason behind it: when you are provided with a piece of information and you want to rewrite it, it does not mean to copy-and-paste it. It does, however, mean that you should rewrite it whole with your original words, not copied-and-pasted. Now, this is your first time doing it, so I won't hold a grudge on you. But, the next I do ask you to rewrite a sentence or a paragraph, that is what I meant. This can also be applied to Wikipedia articles as well. I am, however, impressed at how you spotted the errors and did fixed the grammar. So,   kudos to you. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:30, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: Do you still want me to rewrite it? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 15:31, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
You don't have to. I just wanted to see. As I said before, it is the first time. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:34, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi StarshipSLS. I know that your mentor had been blocked and you have been interested about taking my mentorship with me. But unfortunately, I will not be able to mentor you. I'm losing interest in Wikipedia, honestly. So much business and college stuff happening in this month. I'll be unable to help you. Sorry, but you may have to seek another mentor. Though, you can have a chit-chat with my adoptee, Chicdat, he's very active. MarioJump83! 06:29, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

RFA

  • Howdy hello. I see you have nominated an editor for adminship Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/C-randles. However, that's not quite how it works. For starters, you didn't even get their permission. You asked, but then didn't wait for a reply. Second, nominators are traditionally admins themselves, or very experienced editors. Third, there is a standard template that RFA's follow. The nom also needs to be transcluded onto the RFA page. So I know you are eager, but for the most part, it is best to simply vote on RFAs. The chance to actually nominate someone is rare and hard earned. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 02:29, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

@ProcrastinatingReader: Got it. Ok. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 12:36, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Hey, SSLS. I see that by far most of your contributions] are to user talk, your own user page, and Wikipedia space. That is exactly the opposite of what you should have at this point. As a new editor, by far most of your contributions should be at article (red) or article talk (bright green). —valereee (talk) 21:04, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Yes Valereee, and see this convo too. ——Serial 11:43, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Jeez. SSLS, I strongly advise you to stop doing anything except improving articles (and drafts) until you see this is more than half Main + Draft. Do not nominate anyone for anything, do not participate in discussions in Wikipedia space except at WikiProject Rocketry or to ask a question at Teahouse, do not ask questions at RfA. You are not experienced enough to do any of those things. Like others I'm a bit concerned that your mentors are not experienced enough themselves to keep you out of trouble. @VersaceSpace and @JackReynoldsADogOwner, I appreciate your time working with this enthusiastic new and probably very young editor, but please if you aren't familiar with an area yourselves, tell SSLS to stay away. Some of their behavior is verging on wikipedia:Disruptive editing. —valereee (talk) 12:37, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
@Valereee: Can I discuss at WikiProject Spaceflight? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:12, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
SSLS, you may discuss at any WikiProject where you are actively working on articles as long as you keep the socializing within reason. You seem to be treating Wikipedia a bit like some sort of MMORPG you're exploring. I'm glad you're enthusiastic about figuring out this place, but you should be focussing on learning policy basics and making improvements rather than finding all the secret rooms. —valereee (talk) 14:49, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Mainspace articles suggest

  • With recent dilemma that has come of you (see here and this one), it has been stated that you should be editing more mainspace articles. As Valereee stated: "I strongly advise you to stop doing anything except improving articles (and drafts) until you see this is more than half Main + Draft". I would agree with her. There are currently 6,914,299 articles on Wikipedia and I bet that are articles that you can edit and that fits with your interest. With this being said, I strongly suggest you to use SuggestBot which will give you lists of articles that needs to be worked on based on the pages you've edited and interests you have. To get started, add on your talk pagebut if you want to have suggested articles based on a specific page, then you would insert . If you want a combination of articles and categories, then you would want to insert and so on. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 13:19, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
  • I'm in agreement with JackReynoldsADogOwner here. Either use the suggest bot or edit articles that interest you, please. You know what you want to edit more than we do. Over 400 edits to your user talk page with less than 50 to any articles is not good and you could be blocked as not here to build an encyclopedia. versacespaceleave a message! 13:31, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
@VersaceSpace@JackReynoldsADogOwner: Ok. How do I get SuggestBot to send me space-related articles? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:10, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Jack Reynolds sufficiently described the process to you. Use on your talk page and wait for SuggestBot to leave a message. versacespaceleave a message! 14:14, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
That was stated above. Just find categories (and or pages) that you want to edit that are similar. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:13, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
@VersaceSpace@JackReynoldsADogOwner: Would this work? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:19, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
yes. versacespaceleave a message! 14:21, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
@VersaceSpace@JackReynoldsADogOwner: I added the template. How long will it take to start getting suggestions? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:23, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Actually, it won't work. You're close, but just remove page1= and page2=. So, it would look like: Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:25, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
WP:SUGGESTBOT says it should take less than fifteen minutes. versacespaceleave a message! 14:25, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

It's good. A tip: If you are having a hard time creating something, I'd suggest you to find an article and reference that. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 14:48, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

@VersaceSpace@JackReynoldsADogOwner: I think something's wrong. Shouldn't I have got the suggestions by now? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 14:57, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Edits to the mainspace should come naturally to you. See a typo? Fix it. See a [citation needed]? Find the citation. See that some information on a topic you like is missing? Find the sources and add the information. See an uncategorized article tag? add categories. If these things don't come to you naturally, then maybe consider that this isn't the place for you. versacespaceleave a message! 16:11, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Well, 487 edits of your are in the user talk page, 36 are in the mainspace, and 70 are in draft. That's a long way. Just keep on editing. That's my only advice for you. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 15:29, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Every time you come back to edit your user talk page, that increases the user talk percentage at the cost of all the other percentages. Therefore, it is actually going against your goal to come back to this page so often. 😉😉😉 Leijurv (talk) 19:38, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

History of spaceflight

Hello StarshipSLS. "History of..." are collections of historical data, not potential future events or accomplishments, hence the name. This is why I reverted part of your contributions to History of spaceflight (as I plainly stated). You reverted it with a argument [2] that makes no sense regarding this issue. You will note that similar articles such as History of aviation and History of rockets does not include future events. --askeuhd (talk) 07:05, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Marking Articles for speedy deletion

With a recent contribution of yours, you marked Hot fire test for speedy deletion (SD) with the reasoning "Creator obviously abandoned this". Thankfully, 31.41.45.190 reverted your edit. There are couple things I need you to understand when marking an article for deletion. 1) When you do want to mark an article for SD, you need to make sure you have a reasoning behind it and choose the correct template/reason to go with it. 2) Know when you should or should not mark an article for deletion (for help, see WP:SPEEDY and WP:DP). 3) Know how to accrutaly mark it for deletion using Twinkle. This means by selected the correct parameters to fit with your reason and fill out the required field. When 31.41.45.190 reverted your edit, he (or she) provided that the article isn't ready for speedy deletion according to WP:G13 where there's no activity within the draft for at least 6-months. With this being, I need you to be careful with what template you're using. I know I've gotten stuck with that. I don't want you to be. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 17:30, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

@JackReynoldsADogOwner: Ok, I understand. I also have a question about it. What if no one has edited a draft except me for 6 months. Would its still qualify for deletion? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 18:25, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Good question and the answer would be no. The reason why is because you are still editing it. The WP:G13 only applies to drafts that haven't been edited by any users for at least 6 months. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 18:34, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
@JackReynoldsADogOwner: If that would be the case, could I nominate it for speedy deletion if only I had edited it for 6 months? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 18:36, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
No because it would be considered as an active draft meaning user (if not users) are still editing the draft and making it better. If you'd like to tag it for deletion, I'd suggest contacting the initial creator of the article to see if it's okay. Jack Reynolds (talk to me | email me) 18:39, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

Shuttle-Centaur was a version of the Centaur upper stage rocket designed to be carried aloft inside the Space Shuttle. Two variants were developed: Centaur G-Prime and Centaur G. The powerful Centaur upper stage allowed for heavier deep space probes, and for them to reach Jupiter sooner. However, neither variant ever flew on a Shuttle.

StarshipSLS?

Hey, I think I need some feedback on SpaceX Starship. Since you are WP:SPACEFLIGHT and WP:ROCKETRY coordinator, as well as having half of your username the article's title, I think you are perfect for reviewing it! I want to have a content review, since I afraid I might miss crucial details. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 04:04, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

@CactiStaccingCrane: Hi, thanks for letting me know. I will take a look! StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 19:41, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
@CactiStaccingCrane: It looks great! I don't have enough time to do an in-depth review of it, so I would ask an administrator to look into it StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 19:54, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 02:37, 27 November 2021 (UTC)

I kinda did lol, I gonna chip in now :) CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 01:20, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Uh, about that, I think no one has looked into the article. Do you want me to ask someone else instead? CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 10:26, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
@CactiStaccingCrane: I looked into it, but I don't have time for an extensive review. I would suggest to ask someone else. StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 19:01, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
@CactiStaccingCrane Also, I need help assessing the Rocketry articles. Some articles are also incorrectly assessed. Could you help?
