Hello TJO28, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Solar power in South Africa have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:30, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Draft:T2 Systems

edit

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:T2 Systems has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/t2-systems. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion ReviewDiannaa (talk) 16:23, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Wisolar

Hello, TJO28. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Wisolar".

Speedy deletion nomination of Kayode Adegbulugbe

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kayode Adegbulugbe, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello @Deltaspace42. I noticed that you nominated the article I created, "Kayode Adegbulugbe" for speedy deletion. And I understand that it is because some words may have created the impression that the intention of the article is to promote the individual. I have removed those words that would create that impression, and would sincerely prefer that if there are other words that may indicate that perspective, you should kindly point them out to me or help get them removed.
Kayode is a respectable individual who has made a real impact in various areas. He is one of the few Nigerians I believe should be found on Wikipedia when people search about him. I would appreciate it if you kindly and carefully took a look at the references, and if you have any objections, please draw my attention to them, and I will adjust accordingly.
Thanks. TJO28 (talk) 12:55, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Kayode Adegbulugbe moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Kayode Adegbulugbe. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Reading Beans (talk) 15:51, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Reading Beans, every article on the main space of Wikipedia gets adjusted and updated with more information and sources regularly.
The fact that the article I created needs more sources does not warrant you moving it to drafts. The article is open to the public for corrections and adjustments. I will suggest that instead of moving or removing the article, you make the necessary contribution you can to make it better.
With that being said, I would really appreciate it if you could kindly draw my attention to any issue or error that needs to be addressed before taking any such step, as it would help create opportunities for improvement
Thanks..

I’ll take a look at the sources once more and take it to AfD if I’m not convinced of it’s notability. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 20:50, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
More sources will be added to the article. I would appreciate it if you hold on a little while more updates and sources are added.
It would also be great if, after you've reviewed the sources, you'd draw my attention to what you noticed that does not align with Wikipedia policies and guidelines before you take any steps.
I appreciate you for understanding.
Thanks TJO28 (talk) 21:02, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello, TJO28,
I think you misunderstand draftification. It is not a punishment. Articles moved to Draft space are much less likely to be subject to deletion processes like AFD so it allows page creators more time to improve articles and supply adequate sources. But since you moved this article back into main space, it is subject to the evaluation of our NPP (New Page Patrol) who are very careful to only allow articles that meet Wikipedia standards to remain in main space. Draft space is a safe space to work on articles and I encourage you to start articles in that namespace. Liz Read! Talk! 02:13, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I never removed the speedy deletion notice @Liz. Someone else did. You might want to confirm that before making such a conclusion, as it is accusatory.
I did contest the speedy deletion and later saw that the notice had been removed. I would say it is only fair that before drawing conclusions, you should carefully confirm what you believe. Thanks. TJO28 (talk) 08:52, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Also, you should check the history of an article before making any moves like this on it. Are you aware that the article was nominated for speedy deletion and, shortly after, the notice was removed because it was discovered that Kayode Adegbulugbe is a notable individual who deserves to be on Wikipedia? You should have done some research before proceeding to nominate it. TJO28 (talk) 23:45, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm starting to think you are intentionally attacking my articles. Why would you move my article back to drafts the second time after I had added more sources, and why would you claim that I have a possible conflict of interest pertaining to this article? That would be purely false accusation. Have you taken the time to look up the individual I created the article on? If you feel there are not enough sources, wouldn't it be right for you to add those sources or make necessary improvements based on your observation? Every single article on Wikipedia is up for improvement. I would suggest that if you notice something that needs to be corrected or improved, you should draw my attention to it instead of moving the article and falsely accusing me. Sockpuppetry, again

This removal of the speedy deletion tag by User:GiantjohnO is obvious sockpuppetry or meatpuppetry.
