Welcome!

edit

Hello, Troopersho, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Template:User Presbyterian, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

Gloom... 2! moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Gloom... 2!, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hayes School of Music, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Musical performance. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

I never made any edits to that article, just the talk page, and I'm not going to edit any other stuff on that topic either. You shall have no worry of anything I may do to any LGBTQ+ related articles. Just to let you know, if you were indeed concerned about it. --Troopersho (talk) 12:00, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

  Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. EvergreenFir (talk) 18:35, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Audience scores

edit

I have reverted one of your recent changes.(diff)

Please note WP:UGC user voted scores are not allowed, that means user votes from IMDB and audience scores from Rotten Tomatoes should not be added to Wikipedia film articles. If you think an exception to the rule WP:UGC should be made in this case then please start a discussion on the article talk page. -- 109.76.198.112 (talk) 16:25, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

alright thanks lol. I might think about that exception thing in the very distant future Troopersho (talk) 17:47, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
exceptions are rare. e.g. Star Wars: The Last Jedi or Captain_Marvel_(film)#Audience_response and such exceptions are generally only made if a lot of extra sources report on and discuss the audience response (more reliable sources such as Cinemascore and Postrak are preferred for film aritcles, or for TV articles Nielsen ratings). Even when exceptions are made it generally is not about the score specifically but more about there being a discussion that there is a significant difference of opinions between the critics and the audiences. -- 109.76.198.112 (talk) 05:13, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
