About WikiProject Hazara
editSalam Birar:
Firstly I appreciate your work on Hazara related articles and hope to continue your this effort and serve the nation but to remind you it is unnecessary to create more and more template for the wikiProject Hazara. You have create Hazara Town,Mehr Abad and Hazara Wikipedian and Baba Mazari Great templates. Which is not important because we are not distinct for small geographical of Quetta city but we are working for all Hazara people related article and your this work may lead us to be apart from other Hazara who are away from Quetta city.
Thank for your contribution. Ehussain (talk) 05:11, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
Your Answer
editSalam Qowma: I was not supposed to discourage you birar, it was just because your templates makes lots of rush for the project and I think so, it might be so important that we should keep it in the project template section, if so then other user may also create such template and then we might have thousands of such template that would be POV in wikipedias rules. Your template has not been deleted, I just removed their tags from the wikiproject Hazara, nothing more dear. see here it is your projects.
I really appreciate your contribution for Hazara related Articles in wikipedia.

Great stuff
editI just want to say, you're doing a fine job in editing and improving Hazara people related articles here on Wikipedia. The portal looks really great too. Since you are based in Quetta, I invite you to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Balochistan (Pakistan), a project dedicated to improving Balochistan-related topics as well as Wikipedia:WikiProject Pakistan if you have not joined so already (if you are interested off course). The Portal:Balochistan, Pakistan may also be of interest to you. Once again, thanks for contributing. Cheers, Mar4d (talk) 20:23, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Greetings, though your enthusiasm is great, some of the material you've added at Hazarajat is just unnecessary. There is no need to copy the intro for Sunni Islam or Pashto into the article; that's exactly why we have blue wikilinks, so people can read more details as needed in other articles. The article should not have any info on Sunni/Shia/Buddhist, or Dari/Pashto except as applies directly to the topic of Hazarajat. I suggest you take a look at the added text with that in mind, trim out info better left to the main articles, and ensure that all the material you add has an explicit, not just implied, Hazarajat correlation. MatthewVanitas (talk) 00:40, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, you won't believe, after removing the refs from the intros of Religions and ethnicity, i did think for a while about removing those, but wasn't sure about it. I will do as you suggest. Appreciated Hazara-Birar (talk) 00:54, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- No worries: using the wikilinks wisely is the best way to keep a Hazarajat "flow" to the paper. Getting too deep into what Pashto is draws the reader away from the topic at hand; and if he wants to learn more about Pashto, he can click over to the Pashto link and come back to Hazarajat when he's ready. Give a shot at getting it back to to Hazarajat focus, and I bet you'll find the flow really evens out. Feel free to give me a shout if you could use a second opinion. Thanks for tackling the footnoting on that page, by the way; it was sorely in need of footnoting from good academic/NGO/journalist/government sources. MatthewVanitas (talk) 01:00, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sure, I will. Thank you too Hazara-Birar (talk) 01:07, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

I want to have my User page's history deleted, any help?
Done For future reference, you can ask for a page in your own user space (other than your talk page) to be deleted by putting {{db-userreq}} at the top of the page. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:17, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I just wanted to know if it was possible. Because I wanted to copy the page first before deleting it. Now I have to re-make it. Do I have to make it again or will you retrieve it? Hazara-Birar (talk) 11:39, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, admins are able to retrieve deleted pages. I don't think there should be any problem in re-making the page (if that's what you want to do) in its original form. Mar4d (talk) 11:52, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

- It would perhaps have been more helpful to have made it clearer what you wanted in the first place, but I have restored the page's history for you. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:53, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Just being lazy lol, don't worry about it I will remake. Thanks Hazara-Birar (talk) 11:56, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry if I'm needlessly interfering here, but what he means by "restored the page's history" is that the history of your user page has been restored again as it was before. You don't have to remake it - just revert your last edit and you'll have it back again. Mar4d (talk) 12:01, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

- My bad sorry ! at first place I wanted to know if it was possible. If yes, then I would have saved the page. I wanted to delete the page history because the early history show my facebook link. Which I don't want any body to have access to through wikipedia because I will be writing some articles that some people wouldn't like and where I live people can do anything to others. I hope you understand what I mean. Now I have saved the page, is it possible to delete the page along with its history now? sorry to bother you guys. Hazara-Birar (talk) 12:09, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Aah, I see what you mean. Just re-place the template on the top of your page that you did before, and an admin will come and delete it again for you. Regards, Mar4d (talk) 12:17, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- OK, I think I know what you mean, but to avoid any mistakes, let's get this clear. I can delete the whole page and its history and let you remake it, or I can keep some versions and delete others: for example, keep just the last version but one (the last one apart from the current blank page) and delete the rest of its history. If you say here what you want deleted and what (if anything) you want kept I will do it for you. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:23, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks guys, for understanding. I will remake the page. Can you please delete userpage and its history. Once again sorry for the troubles Hazara-Birar (talk) 13:04, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Image of Hazaras
editHi. You did a good job on this but the "old Hazara man" should be replaced with an image of Sarwar Danish because the collection should have only notable personalities as is done with other ethnic groups. You should also remove the larger bottom image which shows a group of Hazaras in 1880 because some people may be offended by seeing this in the infobox, besides, it is already showing in the body of the Hazara people article. And may I add that you should start the images by dates (i.e. Faiza Mohammad Katiba should come first followed by General Mohammad Musa Khan and so on.)--Jorge Koli (talk) 04:15, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for the suggestions, they are great. I didn't understand, How would the bottom image offend anybody? I did think about adding images of other noteable people but it will just be people from Afghanistan (like u suggested Sarwar Danish) and only politicians which I thought wouldn't be appropriate for an infobox image. As I know there are some other Hazara who were/are Pakistani, American, European or Australian with noteable achievements in history and/or present. You might have noticed except General Musa's every image is from Afghanistan (this might offend the Pakistani, Iranian, American, European, and Australian Hazara) it is kind of limited and I want to extend it. I couldn't upload the images because of copyrights issues but I am working on it. I have personal acquantaince with a couple of famous Hazara photographers who have some of the images of the persons I am looking for. I just called one of them and has agreed to provide me the pictures to be used for Wikipedia articles. I assure you the images will be replaced once I get the images I need. if you have any suggestion to improve mine or better than mine, please let me know we might go with yours. Hazara Birar (Talk) 11:17, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- Afghanistan (particularly Hazarajat) is the primary homeland of Hazaras so having more images relating this place is appropriate and logical. The bottom image to me looks controversial and of bad quality since it's made smaller from the original which is already in the article. Use that space to add the images of current notable people like Sarwar Danish, Ramazan Bashardost, Sayed Anwar Rahmati, Abdul Haq Shafaq or Azra Jafari. You don't need to involve politics into this.--Jorge Koli (talk) 02:47, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Lets imagine for a minute or so.. change the image as u suggested. Replace the images with the ones u just suggested. Now look at the image who do u see? only politicians? And that is what I dont want the readers see, what I want to say is there are people other than politicians who can be the face of Hazara. It is not politics or whatsoever my friend. I don't mind, go ahead and replace the images with the ones you think are logical and appropriate. Its ok with me. Hazara Birar (Talk) 14:45, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. What I meant to say was don't involve nations (i.e. images of Hazaras living in Afghanistan being more than those from Pakistan, Iran, etc.). I have no political agenda, just want to see this article stand out.--Jorge Koli (talk) 11:01, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

- No worries, you deserve it :) I really appreciate your work. I have just created an article: Hazara cuisine, please do check it out and add more content since you may know more about the topic than me, and also correct any mistakes I might have made. Also, I am not sure if the Hazaragi translation is correct since I don't speak Persian. I think it's right though please let me know if I've added it incorrectly. Regards, Mar4d (talk) 07:30, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- It is a wonderful article. I love it. I have one suggestion, the title should be Hazaragi cuisine like we can't use Pakistan cuisine it should be Pakistani cuisine same is the case here. Secondly, the translation, should be "نان هزارگی" in Hazaragi. I know "نان" means bread in Persian but when it comes to Hazaragi language, "نان" means the food itself not just the bread. If you want to put Persian translation as well then you can put "غذاهای هزاره گی", I believe cuisine refers to plural? if singular then "غذای هزاره گی". Hazara Birar (Talk) 09:56, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

editHello You may do whatever you like. I just thought it would be better if we put the real map of Hazaristan before Abdur Rahman's occupation of our land. They both can be side by side to contrast the change. Wish you all the best your birar — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gharjistan (talk • contribs) 12:15, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- That is what I said, if you see the discussion of the article here, I have mentioned that the map can be a part of the article, what I objected about was 1890's map as the infobox image in other words the mane image. Please discuss the issue on talk page, if your points were rational enough we could change the image and put yours. Hazara Birar (Talk) 12:23, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
List
editHey Hazara-Birar, hope you're doing fine. I have just noticed that there isn't a List of Hazara people article yet, which I find strange, considering that there are so many articles on Hazara personalities. Many other ethnic groups have "lists". I was wondering if we could work together and maybe start work on that. Let me know if you're interested in compiling one. Mar4d (talk) 06:14, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- I am doing great, hope you doing fine as well, sorry for the late reply. That is a great idea! after your suggestion I looked through some lists that already exist on Wikipedia. I am wondering, should we have a list that list the persons from A-Z in ascending order as in List of Pashtuns or should we have one with sections (e.g Politicians, Social activists etc) like in List of Hindus ? Hazara Birar (Talk) 06:56, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- Good question. I personally believe that having sections sorted by profession/occupation (i.e. politicians, sportspeople etc) is more user-friendly and qualitative. After all, the purpose of a list is to compile the names of famous personalities and what they are famous for. What is your take on this? If you agree with the idea, then that's great.... let's do it. Mar4d (talk) 11:29, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Many thanks for reviewing this article. Please explain in detail on the article's talk page where the article does not conform to MOS per quality standards and what wikilinks and/or markups are at fault, with relevant links to WP guidelines. Providing this information would be useful. I am looking at your page created list[1] beginning Daizinyat (Hazara tribe) and Elaha Suroor to discern the quality to which you believe Wikipedia articles should aspire, and for clues as to where I might have gone wrong. If cogent explanations of the article's faults are not forthcoming on it's talk page, I will remove the template. Thanks. Acabashi (talk) 12:01, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Hazara People and Their Language
editHi, I have a debate with Lysozym on the Talk page of Hazara people. He/she claims that the original language of the Hazara people is Persian language or Dari whereas I assert that the original language of Hazara people is Hazaragi. Can you please participate in the discussion as a Hazara person. Check the following discussions: 1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Hazara_people#User:Tajik.27s_double_standard_on_Iranian_peoples_and_Hazara_people and 2) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Hazara_people#.40_BozokluAdam 3) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Hazara_people#The_Original_Language_of_Hazara_People_is_Hazaragi.
- Also check the history please: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hazara_people&diff=494672155&oldid=494671685
- That's my expression:
- Hazāra (Persian: هزاره) are an ethnic group who mainly live in central Afghanistan and Pakistan, speaking Hazaragi dialect of Persian language.[1]

Wikipedia Help Survey
editHi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.

The article Bashir Bakhtiari has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Your contributed article, August 2011 Quetta bombing
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, August 2011 Quetta bombing. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Persecution of Hazara people in Quetta. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Persecution of Hazara people in Quetta – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Sitush (talk) 07:37, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
A bit of advice
editHi, I'm an admin who has done a lot of administrative work on various India topics. As someone who has done a lot of article work on individuals from oppressed minorities, primarily the Karen people in Burma and the Ainu people in Hokkaido, I have a great deal of personal sympathy for your perspective. I have long thought that Thein Sein is a two-faced liar who deserves to tortured and shot a la Muammar Qaddafi, and I think in Japan there should be a Shigeru Kayano day just like we have Martin Luther King Jr. Day in America (I rather think Kayano's work was a lot more significant than King's, honestly; Kayano was fighting not just vicious discrimination, but full-out ethnocide). I share this with you because although I'm a white American, I get it; I care, in the John Donne sense, about these people.
However, the fact is that Wikipedia is not the place to express your feelings on it. Wikipedia is about providing neutral, verifiable information; our readers should be left to draw their own conclusions. Wikipedia is not the place to tell the world about your noble cause; we're here to report facts, not provide an editorial slant to help oppressed people. To do so would make Wikipedia look irredeemably biased and compromise our integrity in the eyes of readers. And finally, as a side note I can assure you almost anyone reading about the persecution of Hazara people would be absolutely horrified without anything beyond the cold, hard facts. I won't prevent you from editing in this topic area, but if you want to you need to be very careful. I hope this helps. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 17:35, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks buddy for the beautiful advice, I really appreciate. The problem is, other Wikipedians usually mistake me for other users who are bias while writing about Hazara people. I have always been very cautious while writing the facts about Hazaras. For instance, the article Persecution of Hazara people in Quetta is always edited by a user Gharjistan who writes pretty emotional sentences while adding an incident. I have always rewrote the incident in a proper way that doesn't sound or seem bias (Ref: article's history).
- Now, regarding my recently created article which was about 2011 Quetta bombing, was nominated for deletion and now deleted. I just wanted to have an article which detailed the incident likewise other articles in THIS CATEGORY. I didn't understand why, the reason was told that it has already been mentioned in another article. If that was the reason then why the other articles like 2011 Mastung bus shooting, 2011 Hazara Town shooting are still up and not deleted? They are also mentioned in the other article.
- One last thing, I totally understand, I am not here to express my emotions and feelings for my people. I just intend to write articles about them, either the persecutions or any other topic, based on truth and verifiable refs and that is what I have done. I hate it when other users, instead of asking/talking, judge me and tag me as the one who pushes POV. Hazara Birar (Talk) 07:23, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- The problem is the amount of coverage. The incident now has enough to be a section in an article, but the space in the article is sufficient to describe what happened; for better or worse, it hasn't gotten the same amount of attention as the other incidents. This happens with some frequency in another area I edit, human longevity; some supercentenarians just get more coverage than others. That's why we have an article on Jiroemon Kimura but not Misawo Okawa, for instance. It's not always very easy to see the line- if you look through the history of the first article I substantially expanded (on a Karen activist) you'll see I had some of the same problems, I just had the good fortune to be in such an esoteric area that no one bothered me and I was able to work out the kinks myself- so I don't look down on you for occasionally ending up on the wrong side of it, I just want to help you avoid it in the future. You show a lot of promise, so hopefully you'll keep it up; I haven't seen any major issues with your editing, so you're doing a fine job overall. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 17:04, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. I really appreciate the way you have put the words to let me know what is the right way to the things. At least, you are not like Sitush who used "not a very good tone" while I asked the reason of the deletion. Once again Thank you.Hazara Birar (Talk) 10:58, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hazara Brar, I often find myself cleaning up huge messes across a big swathe of Indic-related content. In the case of Hazara-specific stuff, there have been a lot of sockpuppets involved and a lot of extremely poor logic - in particular, people who assume that because a particular killing involved a Hazara person then it must be an example of the persecution. It looks like you agree with me regarding the general issues. Sometimes I go to great lengths to explain them and other times, faced with a huge list of problematic edits on numerous articles over a short period of time, I just get on with fixing the problems and leave short notes etc. You may have been a victim of one of those short notes. No offence was intended if so, but please accept my apologies. - Sitush (talk) 16:35, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

I think that this is in need of a significant rewrite. It is grossly disproportionate, it reads like the spiel of an advocacy group seeking support and the opinions of people such as Alan Johnson simply do not matter: the official opinion of a significant national government might carry some weight but not that of an individual elected member. - Sitush (talk) 16:09, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Irfan Ali Khudi
editHello Hazara-Birar,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Irfan Ali Khudi for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Anir1uph | talk | contrib 10:44, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
