Slovenly is a word I find myself using quite a bit at the moment. Slovenly is what I think of anybody who leaves a message here about an article and fails to provide a wikilink to the article. How do you expect me to read the article if you don't link to it?
I reserve the right to ignore any message which does not provide links where appropriate or has not been signed with ~~~~. Even if the article has been deleted, you should still link to it.
And if that sounds like a grumpy old man, it's because I am ...

Josef Rosch Image deletion
Hi, I uploaded File:Josef Rösch.jpg for an article on Josef Rosch. It was tagged for speedy deletion because of some sort of "copyright infringement." However, I replied that not only do I have permission from the copyright owner (Dotter Institute) but that I can provide it if necessary. So, why was the file deleted and how can I avoid getting it deleted in the future?
My plan is actually to use a different, higher quality photo. I also will have copyright authority for this image. What sort of documentation do you want to prevent a deletion? Thanks for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caspace3 (talk • contribs)
- You had put an absolute minimum of effort into preparing the image description:
- {{Information |Description = Photo of Josef Rösch |Source = Available online |Author = Dotter Institute |Permission = Evidence: Will be provided on request. }} ==Licensing== Free use for wikipedia.
- Description - could have linked to the article about the guy. "Available online" - disgusting - provide a link to it! "Will be provided on request" - no! - evidence must be provided at the time of upload. "Free use for wikipedia" - hopelessly vague - we need a proper Creative Commons licence. And we definitely want a decent size article instead of the thumbnail you supplied. If the new image is available online and has an appropriate CC licence attached, simply upload it here, point out that the source has a CC licence and reproduce that licence here. Failing that, read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:42, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. By the way, chill out. Most of those "hopelessly vague" and "disgusting" inputs are default options that Wikipedia has. That said, I'll get the next photo hopefully up to speed and appreciate your help on it. The low res photo was just there temporarily, to be replaced when i get the better photo. As Wikipedia is a medium for articles which are continuously updated and improved, it did not seem inappropriate to me to do that. However, I admire your passion for quality and adherence to the rules. Caspace3 (talk) 23:42, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- The most important error in the description, "free use for wikipedia" did not come from a default option. But what I want you to note is that when you have the replacement, it should be uploaded to the Commons, not to here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:24, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
Djing
User RHowarth .... I am user SubVersion Kru ...... i don't really understand your wish to have the entry 'dj spice' removed. I am conducting research for a piece on the the last great youth movement... the acid house scene, looking at not only what helped create the scene, but also a little about the people who were behind creating it....... if you had any knowledge of this matter, and i am sure you don't...... you would know that the gentleman the entry was descibing, Mr Barry Dossett, played a major part in the creation of this movement.........I am new to using wikipedea, so please if it has been removed for any valid reason, please forgive me, otherwise, and i'm not really sure how this works, but could you please withdraw your unfounded application for removal....... we live in an information age.....and at last count, history was part of that......in fact as somebody that has been closely connected with music and youth culture on many levels, i'm a little dumbfounded. please help me understand. thank you....

Not quite sure where the speedy deletion came from, and lack of time (<24 hours) for me to respond I take it you agree that notability is not an issue; I gather from the notices that you seem to think the article was not well written enough ? yours cinnamon colbert PS: I put a lot of work into gathering all those urls; how do i get them back ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cinnamon colbert (talk • contribs) 01:35, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
The Boys Initiative page
It appears that you may have asked for a speedy delete on my pages Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Boys Initiative, the boys initiative and The Boys Initiative. Is that true, and if so, why? Thank you, Dennis Barbour, Washington DC — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dennisbarbour (talk • contribs) 03:40, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- See #wikify above and my previous two links to it. Count yourself lucky to be receiving a reply. No, I did not ask for deletion - three different people requested deletion. I merely agreed with those people and carried out the deletions. You have declared your strong COI to me and I say: kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your organisation is notable and writes about it here. It was an article spammy in tone, cluttered with external links but devoid of independent references. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:25, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
The Sticking Point Solution Page
Hi - Do you think you "userfy" "The Sticking Point Solution" so that I am able to edit and view changes of the page in a private space before officially publishing it? Thank you, Mellyp — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mellyp7 (talk • contribs) 20:29, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- Being a jaded old cynic, I automatically assume that a first time editor writing a faintly spammy article must have a COI.
The most I will do is e-mail you the text, so read this.If you attempt to re-submit, before you do so, please learn: not to vandalise user talk pages as you did with this edit, to use wikilinks not external links and not to put " around titles. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:11, 16 April 2013 (UTC) - Oh dear, some soft-hearted admin has userfied it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:27, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Moses Sachs article deletion
Hello, I created (translated, actually) the article about Moses Sachs which was speedly deleted for not indicating the importance or significance of the subject. I am new to wikipedia and I was wondering what was I supposed to do in order to indicate the importance of the subject (who is, well, pretty important). If this is not the place to ask this please direct me to the right one. Ey nir (talk) 15:02, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- Do the words "links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources" suggest anything to you? You put several wikilinks in the article (which is good). Did you notice that each of the articles to which you linked has sections near the end called "References" and "External links"? Restored to User:Ey nir/sandbox. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:02, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
Hello again, So I added the references to the secondary sources (two articles and a book, so far) and again you deleted the page. What's wrong with it? By the way it would be much more helpful if some experienced user actually explained what is the problem and suggested improvements instead of just deleting the page. Ey nir (talk) 10:54, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
- Inline citations would be a start.--Launchballer 12:31, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
- Again you accuse me of deletion. Will you please learn to read logs and edit histories - which of your edits have I ever deleted? Please reply. The Wikipedia motto is "be bold" instead of moaning at me as above, you should have moved the article back to Moses Sachs and pointed out to me that you had provided references. But I would still like to see references in English and on-line - preferably both. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:09, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
Hello RH, could you send me a dump of the history from William Leveson/recycle before it was deleted. I'm trying to debug what occurred in order to reply accurately at User talk:Technical_13#Declined_speedy (last two paragraphs). AFAICT it was not actually what RedRose suggested since this was probably a WP:MOR. —Sladen (talk) 17:33, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
Seems to also have been raised at WP:HD#Eliminating a redirect. —Sladen (talk) 19:41, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
- Restored! Mark it for deletion again when you have enjoyed it. Seems to have been part of a cack-handed attempt to move William Leveson (mercer) to William Leveson. There was a message "using method suggested by RedRose (talk · contribs)" - weird RedRose has never done any edits. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:35, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I undid your deletion of this file. If you look at the deleted file description from the original upload and the metadata listed on the page, you will see that that image was created and uploaded to Wikipedia in 2010. The website that also hosts the same image posted it in 2011, thus meaning it was taken from Wikipedia and posted to the website without proper attribution. Let me know if you have any questions! Advice
Hi Roger. I hope you don't mind a quick deletion question. I deleted this sandbox: User:Yolobuttercheese/sandbox earlier, but it was restored because G2 doesn't apply to sandboxes. I'm up on that now, but I wonder if G3 would apply to a page like this? I want to make sure I handle these properly when I come across them in future. Thanks for your time. - Talk page stalker comment; I'm fairly sure that as that is inoffensive the only justification for it being deleted is author request, which doesn't apply here.--Launchballer 22:43, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
- The page was not bad enough to qualify for deletion but if I found it at CAT:CSD, I would have deleted it as the quickest way of getting it out of the category. Unfortunately Fram (talk · contribs) has an obsession that deletions must be done in strict conformance with his perception of the rule book. For example he insisted on restoring lives and portraits of all the presidents from Washington to Grant even though he knew full well that it was likely to fail an AfD discussion. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:24, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Reconsider a speedy deletion?
Hi RHaworth, please see the discussion at User talk:Drmies#University project on evolutionary psychology at (I suspect) Loyola Marymount University and the AfD linked there. Uncle G questions your speedy deletion of Evolutionary psychology of kinship and family. Deletion - Bruce Gerencser
Hello, I'd like to discuss the deletion of the article on Bruce Gerencser. I was in discussion with the person who flagged the article as it got deleted. You can clearly see that I am not Bruce Gerencser and I live on a different continent - I have no association with the guy but I thought he was noteworthy for his work.
There is no COI - I have provided neutral links showing the intentions of both sides (for and against) based on all of the information currently publicly referencible (there are very few Bruce Gerencser critics, but many supporters, I had included the critics). I have also given Bruce a heads up that I was writing a Wikipedia article and therefore had his permission.
With the person who flagged the article, I was discussing what exactly was required and was editing the document based on his input. Not sure why this got deleted so quickly! Why is the description less significant than Ken Ham for instance? Bruce is as experienced but I haven't had enough time to gather all of the information and references and this why I was negotiating more time with the guy who flagged the article. He suggested it should be userficated, and I would have no problem with that.
Thanks and regards, Ken — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kengilmour (talk • contribs) 21:42, 21 April 2013 (UTC)21:57, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
- OK you have a different name but I see no evidence for a different continent. But what have I written on your user talk page? OK thanks - I will userficate it - how long can I keep this before it gets moderated again? You'll see my IP is from Ireland / Europe - First paragraph in the document describes Bruce as living in Ohio, North America. Will fix the hideous links as you requested :) Thanks! 07:58, 22 April 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kengilmour (talk • contribs)
- No, I cannot see your IP address. For some reason that I don't fully appreciate finding the IP address of a logged-in edit is a privilege accorded to a very few people. You may keep it in your user space for as long as you like. If I bother to watch it and it stays in user space for, say, a year then I might delete it as "stale draft". — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:34, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
moving articles to AFC pages
I think this move is unhelpful; I reviewed the article when I left a note for the author, which you could have told from the edit history. I'm not sure what good making it this AFC page does; it's a fine article, that just needs some formatting. Moving a submitted article back to AFC just seems like it increases the bureaucracy while making things confusing for the authors. -- phoebe / (talk to me) 02:15, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
p.s. of course I checked it for copyvios when I reviewed it. I think it is just what they say; a school project in process. -- phoebe / (talk to me) 02:29, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- The point was that the article was already at AfC and had already been posted in three different places so I wanted to get the message over: post in one place only. Even if you think it is a fine article, I would like an AfC reviewer to look at it first. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:58, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi there. I just wondered if I could get some feedback to ascertain how comes my post on iHubbub was marked for, and subsequently deleted. The Go Hotels Deletion
Greetings. You deleted the Go Hotels page due to A7. I was re-writing the page earlier to strip out the marketing speak, but now it's deleted because of lack of importance (as I understand it), quite possibly because it was so lean. Is there set of guidelines regarding the importance of the article?

I have restored all but the last three revisions of Wikipedia talk:Spoiler/old template, since the speedy deletion under G8 was out of process. G8 itself says "This excludes any page that is useful to Wikipedia", the reasoning for which is explained in the {{historical}} template on the page itself. In addition, the page was not deleted in Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia talk:Spoiler/old template, which again makes it ineligible for speedy deletion. Anomie⚔ 21:24, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of Troll Bends Fir band's page
A couple of years ago Troll Bends Fir page was deleted for A7 reason. It was a famous band in Russia then and has gained more popularity outside Russia as well (5 LPs released, over 70000 fans on Myspace, around 4000 on Twitter, about 80 gigs per a year). I think these figures prove the band deserves to be mentioned on Wikipedia.

- If you think they have become notable in the last two years, submit a new article making sure to add evidence of notability. MySpace and Twitter links may be included in the article but they do not constitute such evidence. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:30, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
I don't understand your observation what is the reason of a redirect to a disambig that link to that page? Infinite circle? Stigni (talk) 11:23, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- If you had actually bothered to fix the five links from the (article) namespace, I would probably have deleted it without hesitation. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:30, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes but those article are already disambig... They refer to Ezzelino II da Romano but with the redirect from that page to Ezzelini is a nonsense. For me is much better a redlink. I propose that page for RfD. Stigni (talk) 16:52, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- Apologies - your English confused me. If you had said explicitly "is better as a red link", I would probably have deleted it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:15, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I saw you A7'ed this page after it was nominated by User:Hoponpop69. I did not get a chance to look at this article immediately before deletion, but Hoponpop69 has attempted to speedy that page at least once before and possibly multiple times (he does this frequently for band pages he doesn't like; see also the history of The Everyday Visuals, which he nominated again and again until he found a time when I wasn't on to stop him). I contested a speedy on Kicked in the Head before because the article made plausible assertions to notability; the band has an Allmusic biography which substantiates some of what I remember being on this page. The article may not survive an AfD, but I think it's got enough to pass A7 such that a wider community consensus ought to be sought before deletion. Could you please take a second look? - I hate to have restore an article completely devoid of external links but your arguments are sound. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:15, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

- Hi Hatem! The reason given for deletion was "Unambiguous copyright infringement"; did you see that? Perhaps you forgot to read WP:COPYPASTE before copying and pasting onto Wikipedia? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 06:23, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
Deleting Images
1.) i dont get why you deleted the free content image, i thought its allowed to upload Public Domain images, didnt know they can be deleted at will. 2.) fair enough, you have your reason, although they didnt justify the deletion. But just to let you know. im creating Own Work based on this map and will of course link the content (as required) to the author its based on. Any problems with that? because acc. to Wikipedia im allowed to do that. Daufer (talk) 21:58, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- So I am expected to guess which image you are talking about? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:54, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- LOL, thats just great, you dont even know what image you deleted! i suppose that this also means you havent checked the talk-page were i clearly stated that the proposal for speedy deletion made by user Eeckster is false since the image is public domain / author clearly writes its FREE and permission is granted via a Share button.Daufer (talk) 23:09, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- LOL nice picture; you dusted your face off the pavement LOL; is there a vid on YouTube? must have looked as fun as on your picture.Daufer (talk) 00:23, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

Could you move the history of User:Launchballer/Asia Minor directly over the top of Asia Minor? Thank you.--Launchballer 15:12, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Unbelievable! The term Asia Minor has applied to Anatolia for literally thousands of years but you think that some recent song is worthy to sit on that title. You may move User:Launchballer/Asia Minor to Asia Minor (song). The song is not even important enough to justify converting Asia Minor into a disambiguation page but you may place
{{for|the song Asia Minor by Jimmy Wisner|Asia Minor (song)}}
as the second line of the Anatolia article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:27, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- I was thinking about doing this for y'all, and noticed that there is also a Asia Minor (album) article (unrelated to the song), which certainly complicates the disambiguation situation. The album article is currently impossible to find with the normal search. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 20:34, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- The song and album articles are both of minor importance (pun intended!) but since there are two of them, perhaps that is justification for changing Asia Minor into a dab page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:41, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Good idea. I'll go work on that. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 20:47, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- I don't call recent 50 years old, but I've moved the song to Asia Minor (song). As for the disambiguation page, there's a bit more than that there.
Four articles, excluding redirects.--Launchballer 20:54, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Wow, nice template. I've got more work to do, then. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 20:56, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

- 50 years is very recent compared to the original usage of Asia Minor. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:13, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Just as a heads up, User:R'n'B has reverted the edits; I have tried to reason with him, with little success.--Launchballer 14:35, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Excuse me? What edits did I revert? --R'n'B (call me Russ) 19:16, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- The movement of Asia Minor to Asia Minor (disambiguation).--Launchballer 19:50, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- I like to be precise. Uncle Milty edited a page that was formerly a redirect and made it into a disambiguation page. I didn't revert that edit, or yours; I just changed the title of the disambiguation page.
- As for your trying to reason with me, I'll let your post on my talk page speak for itself.
- Anyway, I tried to reason with you -- I explained that my move was based on the primary topic guideline. I haven't seen you respond to that at all, nor was it discussed above in this section. And I'll be really surprised if anyone seriously disputes the fact that readers searching for the term "Asia Minor" are much more likely to be looking for the geographical area than for a song or album title. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 22:04, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Magazines
Hallo, I see you deleted Business Magazine under A7, but I don't see that a magazine fits the criteria. I'd unspeedied it and PRODded, but we must have had an edit conflict. PamD 09:22, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- I call your attitude pedantry but if you want due process to be slavishly applied, you may have it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:26, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I call it sticking to the rules - if you want A7 expanded to include publications, then propose a change to the criteria. PamD 09:53, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
Deleted page Kill Paris
Hi, I'm inquiring about the deletion of the page Kill Paris. It appears there were some copyright issues before, and I'd like to write a new page. Ref: 10:32, 29 January 2013 RHaworth (talk | contribs) deleted page Kill Paris (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of this page) Thanks, ShiftyMitch (talk) 20:39, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Then write the new page, but if it's another copyright violation, it'll be deleted again. It might be worth writing it at User:ShiftyMitch/Kill Paris first.--Launchballer 21:17, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- It would be better for you to wait until someone with no COI thinks the guy is notable and creates an article containing some evidence of notability. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:59, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Flag of Bushmanland
Why did you delete Flag of Bushmanland? It didn't duplicate Bushmanland (South-West Africa), that's like saying Flag of the United States duplicates United States. — Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 09:00, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- It was redundant - all the content is available on that page.--Launchballer 09:02, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Aside from having a image of the flag (like almost every other country/territory article), the Bushmanland (South-West Africa) article has no content about the flag. — Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 09:09, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- So fix it. The flag does not deserve an article of its own; you may add the content of the flag's article to the country's article.--Launchballer 09:27, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- As the man says, what is stopping you writing about the flag within the Bushmanland article? Please reply. As you can see a large proportion of the Flag of … tiltes are redirects. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:59, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
