Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Sculptor85
editI note that your reason for deletion there and here are not only identical but also seem to be copied and pasted from the user above. You might have the same opinion as him/her, but please use an individual set of reasoning or even just (yeah, what she said) rather than C+P. It makes it look like you aren't paying attention and just going with consensus. Ironholds 06:22, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Comments
edit- Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2008_June_14#Alien_and_Predator_timeline - since the AfD, additional sources have been added to the article and also a GFDL concern has arisen when it was discovered that the article was deleted even though some of it had been merged to another article
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Titans (Crash of the Titans) - the article is undergoing a revision; I have added a section on the creation of the characters and located a reliable secondary source that focuses specifically on the characters; moreover, a host of other character articles were not in fact deleted during AfDs
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Dragon Quest VIII characters - this one is undergoing an even more substantial revision that the previous article and it concerns characters that don't only appear in the game, but also as toys, and again, I find a large number of other game character articles that closed as no consensus and keep
The main thing about all of the above is that they are all actively being revised and sourced more thoroughly and I would hope that others will allow myself and those doing the revisions more than just the five day AfDs to so and to keep in mind that the articles as nominated have changed in significant ways. Sincerely, --Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 04:53, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Because you participated in the disputed AfD, I am not sure it is proper to close the DRV. Shouldn't a neutral party do that? Best, --Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 23:51, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Tommy Smith
editYes, but it had been pointed out a few times to the editor that WP:FOOTYN was rejected by the larger community (plus he didn't even know of its existence until after he had taken it to DRV. пﮟოьεԻ 57 21:32, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I got confused. It hadn't been raised with him before the DRV. However, as I said above, he wasn't aware of it until 9 hours after he had taken it to DRV, so the decision certainly wasn't based on it. пﮟოьεԻ 57 21:42, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Personal Attacks by Number 57
editPlease, let's all try to calm down. With regards to Tommy Smith, Jason Naidovski, etc. - it seems likely that these players will achieve a level of notability that satisfies Wikipedia's requirements. They're signed to clubs in fully professional leagues, and unless misfortune befalls them, I'm sure they will take the field for those clubs. Anyway, when that occurs, please let me know and I will undelete the articles: see Kazenga LuaLua (AfD1 AfD2 DRV) for an example of a similar situation I assisted with (age-grade rep player, article deleted for failing notability, and then undeleted when he made his high-level debut). --Stormie (talk) 23:27, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Don't tell it to me, this evening I keep finding more personal attacks Number 57 has made about me earlier today. It's bad enough on my talk page, but in deletion review discussions? I was quite civil, even apologetic, and he's slagging me off left, right, and centre. Why are admins above the rules here, if I started making comments like that, I'd be blocked. I really don't care if the articles get created in the future or not. However in the first case, they seem to meet requirements now, and in the second, I've already withdrawn my objection to the deletion (all that remains is the manner). I don't see any point simply brushing off a request to follow the spirit and intent of guidelines, with, "well it doesn't matter, he'll get an article eventually". Candidates
editThat's certainly one way to handle it. I value the decisiveness of a completed AFD. It also reduces the odds of an edit war, which to me seems to me to be a genuine possibility with a straight up redirect, especially when the campaigns are behind the articles. But you may indeed be right. I may give it a shot.Montco (talk) 05:20, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- One would think its a slam dunk case, but you never know sometimes on the political stuff. Unfortunately, I have a low tolerance for the unchecked emotionalism of a campaign. Its one reason I keep a baseball bat by my front door during election season. Since you are here, how do you handle a case like Jane Mitakides where the candidate has run in multiple elections? Which election to you redirect it too?Montco (talk) 05:32, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I performed the re-direct and we shall see what happens. Stay tuned. Thanks. Montco (talk) 05:49, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Would it be enough that appropedia is the largest and fastest growing web2.0 website for gnu fdl appropriate technology information? See [2] I had not included this because I didnt want to sound like the article was endorsing or in any way give reason for it to be cut. Should I include a few lines about that? --Enviro1 (talk) 11:12, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Diablo III (wiki)
editHi, regarding the wiki, I'm not sure the template should be used to add the wiki in the external links. Most video game external links simply have the name of website, and do not sound or look like a sentence. I just feel it's unnecessary to include the template on video game web pages. Thanks, --EclipseSSD (talk) 13:41, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Marmayogi
editHello, you deleted Marmayogi since it was a repost following its AFD. It's been recreated yet again. I was wondering if you could delete it and salt it. Thanks. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 13:24, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- Excuse me, I'm really annoyed with what has happened and I am really upset. Long ago, I saved a template of Marmayogi before it was deleted on a userpage - User:Universal Hero/Marmayogi. However some idiot recently moved that page to Marmayogi's page and the article got deleted. I've got no back-up of the page now. I request you to please restore the user page which was deleted and block the user who moved the page. Reply ASAP Universal Hero (talk) 10:06, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Can I change me mind
editre: db-authored code.[3]
This was 'tagged' as being orphaned and I, responding to the prompt didn't really think it through as you can see from this post, the original request is here, to which I really didn't pay much attention... t'was interrupting one edit or another, as most messages do. Bottom line, I'd really forgotten all about it, and now remember why it was important. (Brain fart--something here always comes up to distract one!) In any event, I'd appreciate if you'd accept my apologies and un-delete it sometime soon. Having the hatchetman do the dirty un-deed seems to be the best way with such! Sorry--that means YOU. <g> Drop me a note one way or another, please. Thanks // FrankB 03:46, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Madingogo
editHi Stormie. The editor Mandigogo has been doing crazy reverts all over Wikipedia. I notice you have re-reverted his reverts. I just realised that Mandigogo has been following my contributions list, reverting everything one by one. I'm wondering if it could be a sockpuppet of banned editor Prester John.--Lester 04:32, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- It is definitely the notorious banned editor, Prester John. Account set up with the purpose of harrassing me. He's even taken my user page formatting. --Lester 04:52, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- I just listed it on the ANi board.--Lester 04:52, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Rational thoughts

...for participating in my RfA, which closed with 119 in support, 4 neutral and 5 opposes. I'm honestly overwhelmed at the level of support that I've received from the community, and will do my best to maintain the trust placed in me. I 'm also thankful to those who opposed or expressed a neutral position, for providing clear rationales and superb feedback for me to build on. I've set up a space for you to provide any further feedback or thoughts, should you feel inclined to. However you voted, thanks for taking the time out to contribute to the process, it's much appreciated. Kind regards, Gazimoff 22:24, 4 August 2008 (UTC) |

editHi, you commented on Deletion Review on this article at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2008 August 4#Hollywood Undead and requested a userspace version of the article. - It's not that I disagree with the deletion, it's that I'm convinced that had the suggestion of userfication been made earlier in the discussion, no one would have really objected. DRV won't do anything, so I guess I'll just let the matter drop. -- Ned Scott 03:29, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
MfD nomination of User:Stormie/DRV notes
editUser:Stormie/DRV notes, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Stormie/DRV notes and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Stormie/DRV notes during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. --Happy editing! Sincerely, Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 02:15, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, regarding the above, please note that my objection was that it only focused on DRVs I started. I would of course have no objections to some kind of page in which you keep track of all DRVs you participate in or even just of all the ones that went your way, i.e. where the focus was not only on discussions started by one particular editor. --Happy editing! Sincerely, Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 22:14, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment. I've replied on the project page but in a nutshell I haven't the time or particularly the inclination to expand the article so if it moves back again to List of AB tests in NZ I'll leave it alone.--Bcp67 (talk) 06:41, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Hello, Stormie. I saw where you had placed the notability template on the Slave Hack article. I wrote the article because I saw that someone had requested the article in Wikipedia:WikiProject_Video_games/Requests. While I'm not entirely sure of the level of usefulness of the article, I would like for it to be appropriate and meet the Wikipedia requirements. Could you offer any suggestions for improvement along the lines of displaying notability? The only thing I can think of regarding WP:GNG is the inclusion of additional sources. Would that work? Is there an article that we could consider merging this with should it ultimately be non-notable? Otherwise, I've got no problem with deleting it and the images if necessary.
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to incite, flame, or troll nor do I have any connection with the developers/publishers of the game. I just thought that if someone wanted an article I'd try to write one and I want whatever I write to be acceptable and useful. Let me know what you think. Thanks! —Archon Magnus(Talk | Home) 02:53, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

ARticle Protected/Redirected
editHere are recent relevant sites to consider:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1225636/ http://www.tribecafilm.com/filmguide/Celia_the_Queen.html
Christina is the headliner for arguably the largest docum-movie released at Tribeca in 2008. In addition She was a finalist on the most popular television show in America, was a host for E!, TV Guide and Top of the Pops (UK) and had a featured role on CSI. I believe this qualifies her per Wiki standards to have her own entry. Jbloco282 (talk)jbloco282
Hi Stormie. On 6 May 2008 you deleted an article that I created on a very notable band, without any notice on my talk page. While watching one of their videos with my kids, I just found out what happened and recreated, as our encyclopedia would never be complete without the entry (It will never be complete period, but that is another issue). I would much appreciate if in the future you could give some notice before deleting. All it takes is copying and pasting a string from the template, you may have added to the page as part of the deletion. Regards, gidonb (talk) 02:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Speedy deletion of List of media using the Wilhelm scream
editA tag has been placed on List of media using the Wilhelm scream, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. — master sonT - C 16:22, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:StormersRugbyClubLogo.png)
editThanks for uploading File:StormersRugbyClubLogo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:05, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
